So yesterday was equal parts suck and awesome. I squatted in my loose suit but lost 365 down my back in the hole. That suit just isn’t tight enough to give much pop. Ouch. Anyway, afterwards I did some raw sumo rack pulls, which were really good (from just below where I lose the lift when lifting equipped), and then a bunch of rowing.
Then I got onto xbox and people from here murdered me. A lot.[/quote]
Have you played around much with what you like in a suit? The more time I spend in mine, the more I discover my preferences and what works for me. I like long in the legs with them pulled down and tight as shit in the hips. I don’t like the straps super short though.
Do you have skid marks on your back? It’s kind of scary when that happens. Bet it woke you up though
I like shorter straps, and legs tight and pulled up (the sexy look). I haven’t really felt enough suits to know what I like hips-wise. My loose suit is far far too long in the straps. I could probably cross em over my head if my head weren’t so full of hot air. It’s tight on the thighs, but sags in the ass.
I haven’t seen any skid marks, at least not on my back.
I met up with the chick my coach hooked me up with, I think we’re going to have a lot of fun training together. She’s a gorgeous amazon, and is probably 6 weeks of contest dieting away from a good figure career, but says she just likes to lift heavy and has no interest in doing a show.
I tend to get into a “only big 3 lifts” rut, and she says she constantly changes things up, so after PR we are going to train together on Sundays. I think it will help me with my discipline, as well as keep things fun.
She sounds like an awesome woman to train with. It’s fun to change things up, keeps things interesting and coming back for more. Plus it’s great to train with someone who’ll push you, sometimes our motivation can decline when we’re working out alone.

The time I dumped the bar over my head, I had skid marks top and bottom hahaha
It sounds great that you have someone to push you out of a rut. I do the same thing and focus on the big three and a few favourite assistance lifts until I realise I’m bored with them - the assistance stuff. I’m never bored with the others. We’ve added some ass kicking conditioning contests at the end of our work outs where we drive each other into the wall. It’s lots of fun.

I don’t need to hear about your sex life, dearie.
Sindie, I will definitely attend the state champs. That’s probably my “can’t miss” meet every year.

Walked out 445, raw (belt and wrists), and power curtseyed a few times tonight. Previous walkout high was 425. That felt good. Then I did some pulling from just below my equipped sticking point - off a single exercise step booster - to the low-mid 3s, speed no-belt sumo pulling from the same point at 225, and high rep light conventional RDLs from the floor.
Today was one of those days where you go “well, I pressed yesterday, but I’m not sore in the chest, but my shoulders are a little wonky, but my upper back is still sore, but I’m not ready to squat equipped again, what should I do…”
There’s that thread re: adding 14 lbs of unbalanced muscle to your physique in Get a Life. It would all go to my back. But only if I could trade it for like, 30 lbs of fat.
Highlight of the gym evening was the trio who took over the cage when I was done. Middle aged man with his 13 year old charges - one was 70 lbs, one was 270. He had them doing squats, lunges, and jump squats. With 135. When they couldn’t even do a safe-looking squat below a power curtsey raw. It was scary and painful. I wanted to stop.
Middle aged dude kept checking me out as I pulled. I think my grunting both turned him on and frightened him. Maybe if he’s scared enough he will stop destroying the kids’ joints and teach them how to move a bodyweight squat before he loads them down.
Yeah that! I don’t know if there’s too much worse than someone who doesn’t have shit for an idea of how to train (bio-mechs, etc.) teaching poor form to a youngster. Poor kids are in for some crap as they older!
Yeah, Ron is lifting Saturday morning and I will be in the audience. My new lifting buddy, as well as Karma from here, might be around as well. I’m not sure if I will be volunteering or hanging out with the Virtus kids the rest of the time.
Lacking a workout partner yesterday to put me in my shirt, so I pulled, equipped. I think I wasn’t quite ready to pull again, but I wanted to get into the equipment. I got my tight suit on with relative ease and pulled 335 like it was nothing. Stalled on 355 at my usual equipped spot, so I rowed the hell out of 135 and 185. The stall felt like it was just slow, as opposed to a real stall, and like I would’ve made it had I been in a real gym or at competition. I also had a bad beginning to the pull, since my right shin is pretty bruised up and I popped the bar into it really good at the start.
