A Breath and a Scream

Nice numbers P! What are looking to pull in the meet? Or do you(look)?

445 is a lot of fucking weight.
There is no way in hell I could even lift that off the rack…let alone walk it out. fuck.
But…then again, I have never trained PL style, so I wouldn’t fathom that kind of workout.
shit girl. Nice work.
p.s. that kid is fucking fat.

Yesterday’s squat alone session sucked donkey dick. It was awful.

I was all hopped up and excited because 1) Raw Nats kicked ass, 2) Two more heavy squat sessions 3) Bench and deadlift are feeling good.

So, I get to the gym, and dude is in my cage shadow boxing. I start unpacking and rolling my wraps, and he starts front squatting 185 with good depth. So that’s a good gym karma sign, right?

Then I realized I left my wrist wraps at home. Crap. Oh well, they are for comfort, not support, right?

Squatter finishes up, I warm up. 185 no belt, fine, 225 belted, light. I put on the suit and half squat 275 a few times to try to get it seated. This should have been my first sign to do assistance work instead of ME work - my back said “WTF, that is heavy!” to 275.

I put 315 on the bar, belt on, working my straps up - but no dice. I can get them both up onto the caps of my delts, but I can’t get them all the way up. It just isn’t feeling right. I decide to latch my belt and do my 315 straps down, to try to get the suit seated a bit higher.

I wrap my knees, latch my belt, get under the bar, and POP! There goes my left wrap. Son of a bitch.

I pull off the wraps, rest, and start re-wrapping. Get one knee done, and then the left wrap goes flying out of my hand. Fuck this shit.

I move the pins up, take off the suit, and half squat 315 for several sets of 3. My wrists are aching. I move up to 365, walk it out (felt good, even raw), and my wrist says “fuck off!”

I was done, spent, over.

It was just a shitty training day, but I think shitty training days are sometimes good for resolve.

Planning three more equipped sessions before the meet.

Planned lifts:

Sq: 363/407/420?
B: 215ish/231/237ish?
Dl: 335ish/353/370ish

That kind of bullshit can really take the wind out of your sails can’t it; particularly when you get out of bed amped for training. Fortunately you’ve been around enough to take it in stride. You’ve had enough shitty training days to know it doesn’t mean anything.

Are you going at 75 or 82.5 for this meet?

Oh, I am thoroughly 82.5. Very thoroughly.

Call me next time. Maybe I can meet you at your gym and help with the wraps. It’s about all I’m good for these days. Sorry I missed you this weekend. I was at the meet Friday/Sunday.

Oh, I didn’t even think of you! Can you wrap? That is cool. I have an official “get an opener plus” date later this week, so I think I will be good for PR.

I can sort of wrap. I can certainly learn. And Robb has shown me the rope trick with wrapping.

Hahaha, I’ve rope tricked myself so tight that I thought I’d have to cut the wraps.

Yesterday was my last shirted bench before the meet. 225 flew up, but as with last year, there is a slight stall between where the shirt assists and where my tris take over. Unlike last year, my extension was even with every rep, and there was no dip.

Speed speed speed speed speed.

I will murder my tris tonight or tomorrow, just thinking speed. Then, they get a week off before the meet.

Weight wise, I am right where I want to be. If I don’t magically bloat on the airplane, I will be fine. Of course, I will be bringing my scale. The scale I bring weighs me about 1 lb less than my every-day scale, but it is closer to the RMLC scale. Hopefully, the scale in PR is properly calibrated. Or if it’s not properly calibrated, hopefully it weighs light.

I have an idea about the stall, especially if you have been training alone, but would have to see it to be sure.

DC - Same stall location (but no downward motion) as in here, skip to 0:54.

Oh, how neat, I got another random comment on that 200 lb video. That thing draws rude comments like Prof X.

“take off the bench shirt u stupid bitch”

Thanks, crunch monster. Sick abz.

Yeah PMPM, why don’t you quit being so stupid?

I’d offer to take it off after you see SickAbz’s infamous 400 lbs. squat. on video.

Oh, it wasn’t SickAbz who made the comment, it was some 24 year old from the UK who posts videos of himself doing crunches.

Guys who get cocky about working out are assholes. Everyone’s an expert rollseyes
Saw the comments and just note that there’s a lot more supporters than haters. Screw 'em.

I love the video. 200 is freakin crazy.

My bad. Then I retract my previous sarcastic post.

Someone PMed you that comment? That’s very unfortunate. I wonder if the Pan Ams are being live streamed? If so, I’ll try to catch you.

Naw, just another brilliant YouTube comment. I get a ton of awesome comments on that particular video for some reason.
