600 Lbs Squat

i hit a 700lb Raw squat this past year. I was hoping to put it to good use at the SPF World’s. Unfortunately I put my belt on a little too high up on my waist and on the way down on my first attempt with 600lbs I cracked one of my floating ribs.

I was able to still complete the lift and got whites but i wasn’t able to take my other attempts. I did set a World record with my bench but then took a token deadlift attempt of 135lbs. That was the hardest 135lbs of my life:)

I can’t wait to get back to hitting squats heavy again after my next two push/pull meets. hopefully i can hit 700+ this year.

the 600 first attempt put me 21st on the powerliftingwatch top 50 lifters. maybe i should start a thread:)

Damn meat, that’s impressive.

…on every powerlifting board on the internet. Gotta cover all your bases. Train hard.

what’s impressive is my uncanny ability to injure myself during a meet.

Hahaha, touche.

If all goes well I should hit 600 sometime this year. I don’t compete in powerlifting and I don’t always focus on my squat, so who knows when 600 will actually fall.

Right now I’m somewhere in the mid-500’s with a belt and sleeves at a bodyweight of 235.

Heheh.

I’ve done an equipped, single ply 600lb squat in training and have done a couple of unequipped 500lb squats in comps (BDFPA AND BWLA).

Yet to squat 600lb after 2 equipped comps. Didn’t help bombing in my 1st equipped meet!

i am in too. hit 500 in briefs, belt, and knee sleeves in my last comp. lost form on 530. i just got myself a used suit so i hope to be getting close to this by my meet in May, hope to be past it by the end of 09. might need to start wrapping tho…

Count me in too.
I’m hoping to hit 600 really really raw by the summer. (that’s no belt, no wraps, no suit)

I’m at ~575 now. Gotta fix this tendency to fall foward coming out the hole, happens when I get above ~520.
been workig with SS bar, also driving back of the neck into the bar when coming up.

Same problem I have. Somehow I get up on my toes, which was never a problem I remember having before. And my head isn’t looking up. It’s driving me insane. The bad part is I can’t ever “feel” myself looking down.

I’m a little behind you on weight, but Front Squats Paused on the Pins really helped me stay tight coming out out of the hole. I did 3x3’s after my main movement for the day for a couple of months.

Today our team was testing for what we are going to open at for our powerlifting meet this week, i got 540 pretty easy, then went to 585 and almost got it but needed a little help, hopefully 585 will fall this weekend
(Wearing a Centurion, knees wraps as tight as the go and a belt)

So, how many people this year are trying for 600+? Raw or equipped?

I’m at 573 w/ some equipment and hoping that I’ll blow 600 by in the first quarter of the year. [/quote]

my best meet squat is 517 all raw, a year later(this march 21st) i looking at 635 raw, no gear but belt. ive done 735 in briefs recently. thats why im shooting for 635. ganna pull about 6 if all goes well.

you feel you’re making as good of gains doing DC as you were doing a more traditional powerlifting style program?

I want a 600pound squat!
