55 Years Old, Seeking a Weight Goal

I’m 55(July 6)5’9’‘,and have lost 21 lb. this year and presently weigh
214 lb.A Type Two Diabetic,I possess a 48’’ chest(50’’ expanded),a 40’’
waist and 17-and-one-half’’ biceps.I’m thinking of reducing to 200,but could you boys suggest a reasonable weight goal.

Hell your doing good, I would not lose anymore weight. Keep eating health and “clean” get the corret protein amounts, maintainance level of cals (to try to trim the waist down some if necessary)and keep/continue lifting heavy.

If you’re type II, cutting out carbohydrates or reducing them greatly would definitely be beneficial to you. It would also change your body comp fairly rapidly. Good measurements, dunno that much needs changing as far as weight. You must look like you can walk through brick walls…

Welcome and good luck.

How much you weigh is meaningless.

What really matters is your percentage of body fat and that should be in the low teens. I like to stay around 10% to 12% most of the time. I’ve dieted down to 5% a couple of times for the hell of it, but it’s extremely difficult and counter productive if you’re trying to add muscle.

That’s fuckin’ awesome! And diabetic as well…wow!

Do a caliper reading of your BF. That’s what I’d look at, instead of just weight. When you’re in the low teens, post pics and we’ll all be envious! ;D

Great job, man!
