Wow what an awesome feeling; the reverse band 2 board press. I’m sorry I don’t have video of this. We got the gym and I didn’t have the gf film any warm up sets.
So when it was go time she tries to turn the camera on and it says warning low battery and powers down right as I lay on the bench. Very sad. My next ME bench day won’t be till next week some time so I will make sure to video it then.
Anyway, so I used my IW large bands too. Wasn’t sure about them so I did 495x5 after warm ups. Felt like I could have hit 7 but didn’t have a spotter and I didn’t want to over fatigue before my 1RM.
I then did a single at 545 and a single at 585. I had a spotter there who said he didn’t touch it but I kinda think he may have. My gf said his hands were under the bar but she didn’t see him touch it either.
About three inches off the board the weight felt lighter for a moment so who knows. Maybe the band was helping. I then put on an even 600 and got crushed. Totally needed the spotter then. So it appears from spotter and witness that I did hit 585x1 off my 2 board today.
I then dropped down to 405 and repped out 24 off the same 2 board, dam I wanted that last one too for 25 but the gas tank was empty.
I had never done the reverse band press with the 2 board. My to the chest reverse band was around 505 or 510 I think back in early June. Its amazing what those little 3 inches can do.
Anyway, BPG I again want to thank you for setting the bar for me to follow. Promise to have video for ya next time[/quote]
Very true, same goes for a cambered bar, where those 4 or 5 inches can make a big diffrence.
