A bit off topic but I went to a seminar in 2005 and saw Brian Siders who I think was the IPF super heavyweight champion at the time do a few sets of 5 ⦠close grip ⦠with 495. Smooth and fast also - didnāt even seem to be struggling probably the most impressive lifting I ever saw in person.
He was more of a single ply lifter I think but I recall he did 650 no shirt in a full meet no doubt could have hit 700 had he focused on raw benching
I dug how he competed in The Arnold for Strongman. Cool to see a crossover athlete. Even qualified in the 08 WSM
