5/3/1 vs. Madcow vs. Texas???

Hey guys.

I just finished ed cons deadlift program and got my deadlift to 385. I am stalled on all my lifts which include a bench of 185, deadlift of 385 and a squat of 290. I am 5’9 160 pounds and i have been lifting for probably a year and a bit.

Which program would you guys recommend?? I really don’t think mad cow is right for me because i can’t make linear progression anymore…

Can’t make linear anymore? pfff you could likely make plenty of linear progression if you learned how to eat, recover, and train. You have very littler experience and are very small also at 160lb and 5’9. Honestly, I train high volume/frequency so I am by no means an expert on any of these programs. That being said, 5/3/1 is incredibly popular with good cause because it is simple but effective.

Nevertheless, like I said before, at your level, a more basic linear progression could work great. The program you choose is a pretty minor choice compared to how you really do the program, your consistency, your eating habits etc etc etc.

I agree with arramzy, I saw your other post and you could definitely still make gains with linear. Move your max down to at least 90% and give it time. In the long run you will still probably make gains faster than with anything else. All 3 of those programs are great and will work but arramzy is right, make sure your food and recovery are in order if you want to make gains.
