24 years of training
Single-Ply-tested-Powerlifter/cycling/5k/strongman
I ruptured my left bicep tendon at the shoulder last August & had re-attachment surgery in September. Rehab was NO upperbody training for 12 weeks and no direct bicep training for an additional 4. I used the time to improve my conditioning and clean up the diet a bit.
Down
15-lbs over 30-weeks. Since my release I have used two different splits and I preform 3.5 -4.5 hours a week of cardio(both steady state & HIT). Top end strength is is at about 70%, volume tolerance at about 60%. Diet on standard day is (235-270 grams of protein/day)(260 grams carb.)(120-130 grams of fat) 70-80% of calories come from solid food. One day a week I increase the carbs to about 450 grams.
To dispel any suspicion that I may be “All Show & No Go” here are a couple of extra clips.
Please, never, ever, ever use that fever song ever again in any video. I feel so dirty right now, I have to go wash my hands or something. . . I can add nothing further at this time.
Sorry to hear about the rupture… How did it happen?
Looking good, old man. Upper body does look smaller compared to that old avatar of yours (if I still remember that one correctly, my memory may be off there), but whatever, you’ll get back to where you were in no time…
Some mean squatting strength you got, too… What was your best, 405x20 a year or two ago? (I believe I saw a vid of you doing that then, but I don’t recall the exact numbers… At ~205 I didn’t manage anything close to that in reps, and I was 21 back then!)

Anyway, great job!

Thanks CC
I was working 1-arm D.Bell Preacher Curls (my heavy 6-8 rep) when the rupture happened. Knew it at once; oddly there is no pain.
Yes…at the worst point my left arm was an inch smaller than my right and there was an obvious difference in my pecs. It was very tough mentally at times. I am pleased with my progress since the release and expect things to continue to move along. The arm difference is down to 1/4 inch. I’m hoping to be ready for a bit of strength training by mid-summer.
Love the squat. At 47 my best days are about a decade ago…my best years were from 28 to 38. In my mid-thirties; weighing 215-220, belt & wraps, I went 500x18, 410x36, & 315x54 on my best days…Good Times, Great Memories. Last year in June/July/August…at 205 I went 410x15 a couple of time & 410x20 once…I do it all for legs, but the squat has always been good to me!
Take Care…

You look amazing for 47 - no homo
Why do people today feel the need to say “no homo”? It’s not homo.
Does that mean that we need to specify when it is homo?

People who are insecure in their own sexuality say it mostly to remind themselves that they aren’t gay, or at least that they haven’t admitted it to themselves yet.
It’s like this:
“Man, that guy looks good! Uh oh, I think it moved. Did it move? Shit. I’m not gay. Really! I’m not gay, I swear! Well, maybe I’m not 100% sure, but I’d know if I was gay, right?”
I just got back into the iron after taking a few years off…and just yesterday I was wondering how many years I have left to still really “go after it”. I’m 36…you’re 47 and you don’t look like you’ll be slowing down anytime soon…so that is great news for me.
GTFO… YOU MEAN GET THE FUCK OUT.,. REAL MEN WRITE THEIR SHIT OUT… His squats aren’t fucking deep enough, he’s strong but there just not deep enough, they wouldn’t pass at a powerlifting meet.
He’s got a great natural body, but its not a roid body.
Motherofpearl, I see you’re a short little midget like myself only 5’8", you ain’t nothing if you ain’t 6’, I piss on my sorry short ass parents. I’m a little 5’8" 212 lbs piece of shit and you’re even smaller. You got to do the roids if you’re going to win big. I don’t do roids but I’ve trained with people who do and it makes all the difference,
