Guys, I need some input. Not counting the Glute/Ham Raise, which is probably the best. In YOUR opinion, which exercise is the MOST effective to work the posterior chain(Glutes, Hamstrings & Lower Back)? The 45 degree hyper or the regular hyper? Opinions please…
Up for opinions, please…
You should try Romanian Deadlift and even heavy squat(full squat, not 1/61 squat). Those 2 exercices work the posterior chain like hell.
Also try 1 leg Romanian deadlift.

I use the regular hyperextension to warm up before squats. I also do one-legged hyperextensions as a posterior chain exercise (learned from an Ian King) article posted here several years ago. I really like it.
My gym also has the 45 degree hyperextension but I don’t care for it as much, but that might just be that the trainers are using it with their silly clients.
I would make use of them both.
all of the above and one-leg back extensions.
Guys, I appreciate your suggestions, but Romanian Deadlifts and Squats are already part of my training. If you had to choose between the 45 degree back raise and the regular back raise, which one would you choose???
Uhh… neither. If you’re already doing RDL’s, SLDL’s, and Free Squats, then why do you want to waste your time and energy doing a silly back extension? If you got more juice left in ya after your posterior chain workout, then I’d say do some extra sets of the good stuff and leave the back extensions for the trainers and their hapless clientele. I don’t mean to be an ass, but… well, okay, maybe I am, but this is my opinion anyway.
