If your gym has a scale, check some of the weights, might be surprised. I checked the ones at my gym awhile ago, and some of the 45’s were off as much as 5lbs This can add up, the bar too can be light. All this could possibly make a 20lb differance, plus meet jitter’s. 2cents
I’m in, I hit 330 in competition 2 weeks ago. Would like to hit 365 before my next meet in Feb.

My logic generally has a scale farther out of calibration than a piece of steel. Steel is bought and sold on the market by pounds, I don’t see why a manufacturer would give an extra 10% free. But there could be some variance. More likely something off balance or a poorly rolling collar throwing lift out of plane.
Hit it. 365 for 1 today. Got it on my S3 galaxy. Will vids upload from that or should I try youtube ?

I have checked plates before, Ive never seen any outside of a couple pounds off, and most of those are a pinch heavy rather than light. I’d like to blame it on that, but I don’t think that’s whats happening. I think I just choke at meets haha.
Got 295 for a solid 7 this week. Closest indicator I’ve had so far of my proximity to 365.
Everyone’s a bit diff. But for reference I hit 295 for 8. 8 was slow but not a complete grinder.
Hit 335 for a triple im in.

Why would you post this in a race to 365 thread?
Why not? I see other benches here over 365.
You saw two. One of which stated he is still working towards a competition 365, and the other who used a tool to hit 370, but previously posted he had a ways to go.
So you post a 405x7. I want to know why.
Because I fucking wanted to? Maybe if you spent more time lifting and less time on my nuts you could too.
For apples to apples, wanna do twice bodyweight for as many reps as possible?
Post it ! Good luck !
I just found this page, and it’s perfect timing, haven’t been able to bench due to injury for awhile, buit things have just cleared up, and I just finished an incline cycle that ended with me gertting 300x1, and I think my bench is around 315x5, so I’m in for this. I just started a 6 week bench cycle, Dec 30th shouild end with 365.
Come to think of it ;
I might have posted back at the begining of this thread, that I was at 315x5, problem was I couldn’t train the bench for a couple months, only incline, so I’m guessing, I’m basicaly where I left off
I.e . I hit 315x6. 325x5. 335x3. In seperate bench days previous to my 365x1.
