Yeah, I’m freakin pumped. Has anyone heard anything about this yet? Reviews? Advanced screenings? Anything? If it isn’t the best thing since Sin City I will be very disappointed.
Not sure if this has been posted in the other 300 threads but here’s a small clip from the film if anyone is interested.
“300 blends bloody violence, sensuality, brutality, and moments of true beauty into an intoxicatingly unconventional film experience.”
“Sensational. A masculine revelry. Makes every other action movie look like girls playing with dolls.”
I’m sold. Going to go see it Saturday night.
I was as pumped as anyone to see this movie. So was my roommate. Up here at school they showed a pre-screening of 300 this past Monday night, and I have to say I was very disappointed. Still an OK movie, but it looks 18 times better in the previews then how it actually is.
But hey, make your own review over the weekend. I’m sure most of you will still go see it.
Just read it in the area paper. Supposed to be excellent. Good ratings. Friday night Im going to see it.

Fucking. Right.
I cant wait to see this movie. I might even bring a spear with me to the theatre and spear the person collecting money at the ticket line, you know, just to get in the right mindset.

That should make getting your money back easier if it sucks. Count me as seeing it this weekend as well.
D
My bro wants to see it tonight at midnight…if that doesn’t pan out, we’ll see it tomorrow. I haven’t been this excited about a movie in a while.

no way this movie sucks. no way no how.
Was thinking of posting this in the Physique and Performance Photos, Gerard Butler has made an awesome body recomposition with this movie. I didn’t even know it was him till I looked up some info on the movie.
Anyone else catch the way they trained for the movie? It was on tv, I caught the beginning but had to leave, they used some weights but mostly trained like what I would say for a World’s Strongest Man Competition. The director wanted a hardened body look, basically a warriors. It was pretty bad ass but as I said I got to see alittle and then had to leave for dinner! I hope it gets played again.

Cool the burners, Burner. It was a joke. I to think this movie will be awesome and not only am I packing a spear, I plan on wearing Spartan headgear as well. Screw the folks behind me.

Every review I’ve read so far (except the USA Today) has said it’s basically a violence-filled test-fest. My enthusiasm has not been diminished. I thought about taking a half day tomorrow to go see it, but if I did that I’d have to see it alone, so I’ll wait until the evening show.
My loin cloth is greased, im ready to rumble.

Screw it; I’m going alone. I do it often during the early part of the day, usually the first showing. It’s not like you socialize with anybody during movies anyhow…
BTW, I think people would be less disappointed by the hype if they’ve read Miller’s graphic novel first. You won’t ruin the suspense; it’s not like we don’t all know the outcome of the battle, anyway.
Plus, it’s cool to compare how they copy the scenes from the book almost exactly, as was done with Sin City.
Thank you T-Nation once again! Me and my friends have been planing on going to this movie for about a month but none of us could figure out a good time to go this weekend due to conflicting schedules.
I had no idea that it was playing tonight but it is at the local theater and the only reason I checked was because it was mention here, oh yea we are going to see it on the IMAX which I find makes it even better so all the better!
I find it interesting that every single guy I talk to about this movie always says “OH YEA, I’m totally going to see that movie!” I can’t think of any other movie that has evoked such a response.

Maybe I’ll see you there, if I can get my friends to go tonight. Maybe Langley (I’ll wear my T-Nation shirt, if I go.)
