Now, this diet is supposed to “reset” your desires for “bad” foods, but being three weeks in, I am becoming convinced that this varies greatly among people. I still have the desire to eat most of my favorite “bad” foods, although the discipline and mental toughness which I am proving to myself on this diet makes me more confident in my ability to resist those temptations.

I can agree with you here. Having done the V-Diet before and finishing it again earlier this week, I keep making comparisons. The first time around, my cravings for junk food were severely curtailed but I later ended going back to eating junk meals from time to time.
Not that I gained any real weight back, I kept it between 200-205 for about two years.
This time around it’s similar to what you said in one of your recent posts - I’ve realized I’m heading in the right direction, but it’ll take awhile to get where I’m going so I’ve got to keep my food choices in place accordingly.
Hell you’d lose five pounds if you just shaved… ![]()
Good job on your process so far!
About your body hair, while it’s your personal business completely, I’d advice you to shave it off if you aren’t already planning that. You’d look so much better.
I know some chicks dig the chest hair, but I doubt anyone get turned on by back hair ![]()

I have been considering it. Any advice on how to go about it? Unfortunately, I lack that sort of flexibility.. perhaps I need the “Magnificent Mobility” DVD. That being said, I do plan to shave.
Day 22
University fitness center was closed today, closed this weekend and next for inter-semester break. So I skipped my workout today.
… Ya right.. on your life!
Got a free day pass to the JCC.. and if I had to sum up today’s workout in one word, it would probably be “transcendent.”
This is the first time in 3 weeks that I was able to get through all 10 sets of squats (10x3) without lowering the weight. I was just incredibly focused and tuned in today, it really was.. transcendent.
Perhaps part of what contributed to the intensity today was working out at the JCC. Aside from some very hot chicks there (my college is not co-ed) perhaps what contributed to the intensity was my history with the JCC.
Two years ago, I began my journey from FFB (former fat boy) and over the course of about 6 months, I lost over 40 pounds. The most intense part of that time took place in the JCC over the summer where I ran every day for over 45 minutes. So that place definitely has some special meaning for me. Not that I have never been there since - I have - but this time, especially in light of the Velocity Diet, and my dedication to lifting, I saw my self in a very different light, finally. I saw the different person I have become since the time I went there to starve myself and run. This infused me with an incredible intensity.
Walking out of the gym today, I was beat. Sore, tired. But I was floating in my own cloud, on top of the world. I thought about why I love this game so much, and I thought how nothing I have ever pursued in my life has given me back so much.
I had my doubts this morning about getting through this week, because I had been feeling weak and having lots of intense cravings. But now I know that I am going to crush this. Not only that, but my cravings are starting to change to healthy things - my strongest cravings right now are for dried fruit, nuts, tuna, cottage cheese, beef, fruits, vegetables.
Strength always, inside and out.

Day 22? You’re almost done… Wow
Do you have a plan for a diet when coming off the V-Diet?

Sorry to post again but I wanted to add this.
If you need to shave your back yourself you can just tape an electric razor to a spatula. It might take some time but can be done… not saying how I know ![]()
I think there was a post on here linking a site where they sell something similar…
keep it up

Day 23
NEPA treadmill walk 60 minutes at 3.5 MPH.
Added cinnamon to my Banana Metabolic Drive today, and all I can say is.. wow! I love the banana cream, but with cinnamon it’s unbelievable! I kept adding more cinnamon and stirring it in.
Feeling quite pleased.. and excited that it’s day 23.. man I can’t wait.. food! Gonna celebrate with a friend or two afterwards.. of course, I’ll be cooking.. lean meat on the Foreman with plenty of tasty vegetables and tomato paste… and green tea ![]()
Day 24
Rough workout today. Had to fight the urge to quit in the middle, felt worn out and tired. However I pressed through and did as many reps as I could manage. Still recovering from Sunday’s workout, which was extreme. Some DOMS in the quads and bis. However, I’ve decided not to beat myself up over my performance today, I guess it’s par for the course with my limited recovery ability on this diet. I cannot wait for next week when I will be operating at full throttle.
Also, I found out that ground cinnamon is in fact caloric and has a few carbs, although most are from fiber. So I will take it easy with the cinnamon in my shakes.
Keeping my head up, and taking today’s gym session in stride. From now until my workout on Thursday, my primary focus in life will be rest and recovery. NEPA walk tomorrow, sleep until I can’t sleep anymore. That’s the plan.
I proctored an exam for three learning-disabled high-school kids today, who needed extended time for their exams. I made a rule: anyone talking or noisemaking gets to do 10 push-ups. It suddenly became pretty quiet, once they saw I was serious ![]()

2 solid meals per day for the first week.
A nice breakfast and a nice lunch.
Third week, I will probably go up to 3 meals per day, the rest shakes.
To enhance glucose tolerance I will be doing HIIT most days, probably about 15 mins/day on the treadmill, in addition to my lifting sessions 3x/week.
I’m really going to “play it by ear” but these are my thoughts right now…
Any tips? I’m on the diet, and have 1 more shake left in day two. It’s been pretty rough for me, mostly because of nausea. did you have any similar symptoms? What days were your hardest?
Good luck on day 25!

Your shakes should be spaced evenly throughout the day, and you do want the last shake to fall close to bedtime, so that you do not become (too) catabolic during the night when your body runs out of protein and the HRX are no longer there to help.
This diet is rough, psychologically. Take it day by day. Drink a lot of water and green tea. Adequate sleep is also critical. Managing stress and emotions is also paramount. If in the past you used food in any emotional way (stress, boredom, etc) those habits may die hard. Just keep at it.
When you wake up on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th days in the morning, you will feel an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. Look forward to this. Tell your friends what you are doing and get their support. This is not something most people could ever even think about doing, so be proud that you are taking your life into your own hands.

Thanks ZSebag.. I’m looking forward to your update pics.
Day 25
NEPA treadmill walk 62 minutes at 3.5 MPH (extra 2 minutes purely out of spite because I was tired and wanted to ‘prove’ myself, haha!)
Keeping my head together. Finish today and then it’s Thursday (my last V-Diet lifting session) Friday (get some groceries for Sat meal) and then Saturday is the solid meal day and Sunday I begin the transition off.
Funny, the strongest cravings I have right now are pretty consistent: tuna and dried fruit, beef, and every time I smell tomato sauce I almost lose my mind. The dried fruit craving has been strong as hell, it’s pretty strange!
I’m going to feel almost guilty going to the grocery store on Sunday and actually buying real food!
Welcome to Day 26!!! Youre almost there!!!
I PM’d you, but thought I’d put this out there so no one has to hurt themself with a spatula! LOL
If you cannot shave the back hair yourself, call several hair salons, barber shops, day spas, and nail salons. Some provide that service at a minimal charge.
Usually anyone who provides waxing services will trim the hair first, then wax. If youre not interested in waxing, ask if they will just shave it instead and you may even want to suggest that you would be willing to provide your own razor.
My mom owned a hair salon, you’d be surprised at the requests she received!! LOL
I hope you are going to provide us with side-by-side comparison photos once you are done.

Congrats thus far, I can comment on the taste changes as I’m off the V-Diet for about 3 weeks now. I never in my life liked fish, mushrooms, onions, peppers and a few other things, I liked more bland tastes. Now I can’t get enough of them. It’s absolutely absurd how much your cravings change. I had fast food once after the transition period was over, it made me feel like I was going to die.
My body just doesn’t like that stuff anymore. I’m on the radical diet right now (slowly upped my cals back to 3k a day then dropped to 1200 a day few days back) and I must say that I could never do this without being on the velocity diet before. After you’ve been on the velocity diet, everything else is cake (or rather grilled chicken depending on how your cravings are =] )
Good luck and finish up strong, few people have the ability/willpower to do something like this and your almost there. Take some pride in that.

Been thinking a lot about the transition period coming up.
So far, this is the plan - any advice/suggestions appreciated as always.
-
30 minutes of cardio, 3 days per week, to increase insulin sensitivity and carbohydrate tolerance, and the normal 3 lifting sessions per week. Been doing WM, will probably switch to TBT.
-
Week 1: Replace two meals per day with solid food meals. 3 shakes/day.
Breakfast: Omelet (8 egg whites and two yolks) with oatmeal or fruit.
Lunch: Lean beef hamburger with baby carrots and broccoli/cauliflower. -
Week 2: Bump it up to 4 meals per day - and one shake as the last meal.
-
After week 2, I will be back to all-solid meals.
Will continue taking the HOT-ROX, 3/day for week 1, 2/day for week 2, then stop taking them. I will continue Flameout, 4-8 caps/day for both weeks.
These are rough guidelines - a rough plan… anyone have any thoughts?
Wakiki,
Thanks for the input about the over heating. I was thinking
the same thing that its the fat…we’ll I hope its the fat burning!!
Or it could be what Downwardog was suggesting of a thyroid
issue as it is a family problem that I have yet to be diagnosed with.
That being said I am leaning in your direction for obvious reason!!!
How is the after V-diet coming along?
