Everynow and then I pull out the “Lightweight!” and “Yeeeeah Buddyyyy!”

And you somehow think that over 20 years of serious training without a serious injury is NOT enough time for a “chronic injury” to present itself? For one, considering most pople into heavy weight lifting experience some type of injury if they lift that long, to claim that chronic pain is the result of poor form is pure nonsense. It is because of years of very heavy weight being thrown onto joints and tendons. An injury due to poor form alone would present itself in shorter time than DECADES. Don’t make up shit for no reason.
I didn’t think I needed to elaborate that the heavy weight was a variable, think about what you’re saying. My position on poor form is that you can generate the same amount of muscle tension while minimizing joint forces i.e. transitory forces like compression, distracion, and other variables like rotation; contact surfaces are important to note also.

What I also meant to say was poor form usually manifests itself through “acute” (not chronic) injuries; when connective tissue and joint integrity has been compromised. I’m not saying my view is to lift as strictly as possible it’s to be aware of what you are doing and deciding if the risk is worth the benefit. Furthermore I did’nt make shit up, i’m just looking at the info.

whats that a whole 3 inches???

At least Dorian Yates used to go down full ROM.

Dumbest Post of 2007 so far.

EVER SEEN BLOOD AND GUTS?

DORIAN manages to go quite deep.

SORRY MR> X , I am not surprised by leg press as Ive seem a million and a half people over load the weight and go down one inch.

I think he could have actually gone down farther despite his legs.

THats like squating 2 inches and saying whow look at me I squated 700lbs? whats the difference?

The difference is 1,550lbs.

actually dumbass, the difference is about 700 pounds. you can’t compare a squat and a leg press. as a rule of thumb, if you squat 500 pounds then you can leg press 100 pounds. the weight of the load is split in half into 2 different components, one component is verticle and the other component is in the line of action of the leg press.

so with that said, the diference isn’t 1500pounds. i hate people who think they’re strong just because they leg press. the squat is the ultimate test of strength, and to me, a deep squat of 700 pound is much more impressive than this leg press of ronnies. he did not bring it down far enough, and as for his squats he doesn’t o down far enough either.

2250-700 = 1550

Fuck your rule of thumb.

more than half of the load on that leg press is going into the actual leg press machine. not into ronnie, so he was effectivly pushin around 900 pounds i think. he wasn’'t using any stabiliser muscles either so he could push more weight than his usual 800 pound quarter squat.

Irish…if you really are Irish…keep your mouth shut…you’re an idiot and you don’t know what the bleep you’re talking about. You’re an embarrassment to my Irish heritage.

your probably one of those guys who comes to ireland in an “i love ireland” tee shirt.
No…when I go to Cork…I wear what I want…which isn’t what you described. However, I have noticed when your life is much like the current potato crop in Ireland…lost.

no i wasn’t even a tiny bit impressed with ronnies 800 pound squat. not even a bit, because it wasn’t even parallel, and he was all geared up in suit and knee wraps, not oo mention for a guy with such huge legs he should be lifting that raw imo.
Now that’s the dumbest post of 2007, so far.
