People, im not calling bluffs on anyone. All im saying is that he might touch his chest with the weight. i can do 180 kg where i pause 2.5 inches off my chest, but do i count that as a benchpress? Hell no. My maximum is 130 kg where i go down under control, pause at the bottom, and go all the way up.
Wait a second…I thought you could arch your back as much as you want without lifting your ass from the bench?
So I was at this powerlifting meet once, and EVERYBODY was arching their back…
steel_12 you really are made up of steel man. I’m 1.75m and weight 95kg yet I can only do 110kgx5 with strict form. And let me tell you that doing that beltless puts a whole lot of strain on my hands shoulders and internal organs. How did you do it man. How did you get to 180kg? Please tell me. I promise I won’t tell.

lol id like to know his secret too. .
I never said i could fully press 180 kg. what i said is that i could do 130 kg fully for 1 rep, and 180 partially.
gains in the partial benchpress come very quickly. when i started to partially press, and by that i mean pressing the bar only about 1/4 to 1/2 way down i was not used to the form, but i saw gains in strengh in the partial benchpress every workout and, but my full bench pnly increased 10 kg. also, partial press training has to be combined with full range of motion training.
if u can do 110 for 5 full reps then im sure u can partially press around 140-150 kg now. try it and lets c how quickly u can partially press 180.
The thing is that doesnt count as a bench press, and it never will.
well i suppose you have a point supra max holds were a mainstay in my bench programme. . i was stuck at 1rm of 120 kg at 71 kg bodyweight for over a year. . . supra maximal holds and isometrics for a few months twice a week and i was bangin out 140’s (308) and i was only a kilo heavier at 72 kg and a 1.91 bw bench
My bench went from 60kg to 110kg in a matter of six months.
I did heavy low rep training during the period of time (5 or under) and followed Dave Tate’s advice for instantly upping your bench poundage. Tnx Dave Btw
