He’s a regular on Fouad’s podcast. Hopefully he listens to the experienced guys on there. Being an IFBB pro is risky, but Fouad especially often talks about the need to get very regular bloodwork done and be monitored by a doctor.

That’s all great, but how much does the bloodwork really matter? It’s not like they’re gonna drop their doses if they get a bad test before a show. Towards the end of my dad’s life, his GP of 30 years told him if he didn’t start walking and stop eating like crap, he was going to refuse to see him because he felt like it was compromising his integrity to keep treating somebody who was only making things worse for themselves. I must admit I don’t put much stock in the integrity of any doctor who sees a 20-something year old like that and says anything other than “STOP.”

I see medical issues every day at work that are easily preventable. The problem is a lot of people do not listen until it is too late. They want responsibility for their health so long as it is free of consequences.
Totally agree with everything you said. I just think going to see a doctor and get bloodwork and trying to keep everything under control when the only glaring problem is rampant drug use that the patient refuses to stop is laughable. It’s like saying “Yeah, I end up blacking out at the bar every night, but I always make sure to hit an AA meeting beforehand!”

I agree, for sure, and I’m not saying it makes it all good, but I guess it’s then somewhat of an informed decision and if there are red flags and someone keeps pushing, that’s on them and they can’t say they didn’t know.
100%. One of the reasons I never went down that road.
These guys are gonna run these crazy cycles regardless of who’s looking after them. I’d much rather have a doctor keeping an eye on health markers than my “coach”.

That’s the point: the blood work is worthless. Most take it when they are cruising and they don’t change regardless.
Sure, there’s paramedics at demolition derbies. But I doubt many drivers would participate if they knew their car might explode on impact. These guys are deciding to keep driving anyway.
I would like to believe that each one these pros have made their own personal risk/reward decisions. Sure many are acceptable to large amounts of risk, but it is their decision.

I don’t want to look like either of them. I’d probably have to choose Nick Walker and immediately cycle off of steroids, because with Priapus’ member, you couldn’t have sex, no woman could pleasure you, and you’d likely pass out before being able to get an erection due to blood loss.
