2014 NFL Thread III

Even if you throw a slant in these conditions, it better be low and have smoke coming off it. Fire that fucker in there so hard if your boy doesn’t catch it, no one else does.

Pete pulled this shit in 2005, when USC played Texas. 4th and 1 and Pete didn’t even have Reggie Bush on the field. We fail to get the 1st down and Vince Young goes down the field for the win and National Championship.

I really thought when he dropped by in the shotgun it was either going to be a QB sweep to the pylon or a QB draw. I never dreamed he would be dumb enough to pass it. With two timeouts, 3 downs, he was in the ideal spot to just grind it from the I. Absolutely no reason to put the ball in the air, but I really think he overthought it. My wife thinks its because he doesn’t like Lynch, but hell if that was the case, just use Turbin.
Wilson’s still a younger player. The play call put him in a bad situation and he made a poor choice. Shit happens.

24 yes 24 Mr. Sherman, dickhead.

This was tough for me too watch , hate the pats but man Seattle is a tough team to take. I’ll give credit to the pats they figured out a way to make seattles D look ordinary when it counted.

Julian Edelman does not get the credit he deserves, I find him amazing.

Oh and Dan Patrick way to do your homework fucknut.
I don’t think he was being a dickhead. That TD brought their score to… WAIT FOR IT… 24

That’s all I took it as anyway.
coolnatedawg wrote:
That game was awesome. I was rooting for the Pats to take home 1 more since I think Brady and Co won’t get another chance. I really like Edelman- that dude is a lot like Welker in terms of getting crushed and then still going.

I couldn’t believe when Kearse came down with that ridiculous catch on his back. The Pats were going to lose to a miracle catch just like against NYG but they overcame it. Pretty awesome.

Anyone else get a little annoyed with Al Michaels tried to stir the Sherman pot after that Doug Baldwin TD? Sherman mouthing to the cameras “24, 24” and pointing at the scoreboard. Maybe he is just trying to say “look at the scoreboard it’s 24 points now since we scored a TD”. Instead they try and push how he is flaunting how much better a CB he is than Revis (#24). That irked me a little- blatant push to make something out of nothing.
Exactly - that’s all it was. He was excited that their score was now 24. And the fuck nut Al Mickaels trying to create controversy. That’s all the fucking Media seems to be good at these days.

Nah, Butler had him read from the snap. The Seahawks didn’t lose, they were beat on that play.

Doesn’t help the receiver was suddenly soft like small child.

We were drinking with this massive (Like 6’8") Bulgarian dude who was drinking Vodka out of a pint glass and the most intense Pats fan I’ve ever seen, lol.

DOH

One timeout. They had to burn one after the crazy catch to save the playclock
You’re right, not sure how I missed that. Either way, plenty of time, even with only one timeout.
Yeah lots of time. I think their thinking is if they run it in on that play and score Brady has time to get in field goal range to tie or get a TD. Supposed to be a time wasting play that still leaves them two chances for Lynch to run it in. I think Wilson just thought he saw an opening and made a bad decision.
Still doesn’t make any sense. If you want to score, you try to score. If you don’t want to score, you still run it with Lynch to take time off the clock and have him fall at the 1 yard line. Even if you’re wasting a play because you don’t want to give Brady 30 seconds, you don’t pass in the situation.

Fuck.

Kids in Maine are loving life today. Right after the Pats won they announced school closings for the snowstorm we are presently being hit with.

Pats win, no school. How much sweeter can it get?

Ya, but a guy like Brady would probably have recognized what Butler was up to and either thrown it away or pump faked and gone over him.

NFL network (sirus) was saying Butler had gotten beat on the exact same play in practice and Belichick was quick to get him squared away. It was good coaching and a great play, but I still think a veteran qb understands the situation and doesn’t take that chance.

Maybe, sure. I just think Wilson is pretty damn good, and Butler just made a play.

Butler is a quintessential Belichick guy… Undrafted, no name “value” dude, who had a pretty stud game

I feel for ya man, but on the bright side, this is more likely than not Brady’s last stand, and the Hawks can win 2 out of the next 3 without question if they can keep the team together.

You guys have a bright future right now for sure. Pats are in the twilight with Brady, so unless the Sexy Gruf can pull magic out of his ass, its back to not being Title Town after this.

Wilson’s very good and it was a great play by Butler no doubt.

Better find about $200 million for Wilson and Lynch…
