Great game also, not the best SB ever, but top 3 for sure.
That game was awesome. I was rooting for the Pats to take home 1 more since I think Brady and Co won’t get another chance. I really like Edelman- that dude is a lot like Welker in terms of getting crushed and then still going.
I couldn’t believe when Kearse came down with that ridiculous catch on his back. The Pats were going to lose to a miracle catch just like against NYG but they overcame it. Pretty awesome.
Anyone else get a little annoyed with Al Michaels tried to stir the Sherman pot after that Doug Baldwin TD? Sherman mouthing to the cameras “24, 24” and pointing at the scoreboard. Maybe he is just trying to say “look at the scoreboard it’s 24 points now since we scored a TD”. Instead they try and push how he is flaunting how much better a CB he is than Revis (#24). That irked me a little- blatant push to make something out of nothing.
I get the idea of choosing not to run it there. There was still enough time left that if they score on that play for Brady to get the ball back and get in fieldgoal range. Everyone in the world seems to think they should have run it with Lynch, and I’ll argue that for that exact reason it’s a good idea to do the opposite. He doesn’t make that pick and Pete’s being called a genius for passing when the whole defense is ready for a run.
…and I loved seeing Sherman’s face there oh god that was fantastic.

Cosmic law struck again.
Everyone gets their bitch card pulled one day. Unfortunately for Big Sherm, it was on the Super Bowel.
I didn’t have a dog in this fight, but I wanted Pete to pay for what how he left my Trojans. [/quote]
Best part is “classy” Seahawks not starting a fist fight at the end if the game, you know integrity of the game and everything…
Last I checked when the “cheaters” lost to the giants they didn’t start fist fights.
Okay I’m done with the gloating.

The little ‘scuffle’ of pushing and shoving I wouldn’t have said anything about, but then someone had to spear Gronk and someone else charged from like 5 yards back to throw some fists… that is just classless shit right there. I don’t even care if the Pats were talking mad shit as they lined up for that play.
I was actually(stunningly) about to feel bad for the Pats before that INT. I mean, I really didn’t care who won(went over that 2 weeks ago), but man, to seemingly lose it on that ridiculous play… ya I would’ve had some sympathy.

I get being upset and losing your composure, but dude was still talking shit at the podium after the game.
What a total toolbag.

It took like 4 years off my life. This entire season did, lol. It’ll be their last hurrah with Brady I think, but man o man…
It was also hilarious to watch Chris Cater be so fucking butthurt on ESPN after the game. I swear he was going to cry at any moment.

Knowing what a big mouth Sherman has, which do you think is more likely?

Should Seattle decide to go with a pass, I’m thinking a fade route to the outside shoulder of Chris Matthews. It’s either a TD or an incomplete pass. I’m guessing Pete threw the ball because if running it doesn’t score, the clock keeps ticking ?
No way in hell I’m throwing it into the middle by the goal line, unless it’s to a beefy physical SOB like a Gronk.

Oh yeah ill agree that the specific passing play the called was a bad choice. But if the ran it and didn’t score then burnt their last timeout they have one more play. If the pass, run, timeout, run they get three plays to try to score.
And people seem to be forgetting Lynch getting stuffed on the goal line in the 3rd quarter when they took the field goal.
Congrats to the Pats
Fucking cunts… ![]()
I really thought when he dropped by in the shotgun it was either going to be a QB sweep to the pylon or a QB draw. I never dreamed he would be dumb enough to pass it. With two timeouts, 3 downs, he was in the ideal spot to just grind it from the I. Absolutely no reason to put the ball in the air, but I really think he overthought it. My wife thinks its because he doesn’t like Lynch, but hell if that was the case, just use Turbin.

One timeout. They had to burn one after the crazy catch to save the playclock

Agreed. He is tough little bastard. However, he is a bastard.
Love him in a uniform, dont’ want to be anywhere near him in a bar…

You’re right, not sure how I missed that. Either way, plenty of time, even with only one timeout.

Asking Gronk if he ever thought he would win another one, if he ever thought he would get this feeling again, repeatedly on the podium until Gronk finally had to address it and tell him that he had never had this feeling.

Oh, I was really drunk and the bar was still going nuts at this point.
What a game. For the last 2 minutes I felt sick to my stomach, and after that ridiculous Kearse catch I thought I was going to throw up.
So happy that Butler was able to make the final play, woulda been a shitty offseason for him to have to relive the Kearse catch.
I thought overall the Pats had a good game plan, even though it was very conservative. Not sure why they deactivated Gray, I think he was the back they needed lastnight. He hits the hole hard and fast, whereas Blount needs time to get moving. Still though, I did like the play calls, the two pics were all on Brady, like I didn’t even think they were good athletic plays, he basically threw it right to both of them.
The Pats defense didn’t play as well as I was hoping, but made the plays when they absolutely needed to, minus a couple of exceptions…(the Chandler Jones wiff on Wilson, and the bismal coverage from Collins on Lynch up the sideline stand out)
I was deff upset with the fact that they, for whatever reason, wouldn’t putt Browner on Matthews until the second half. The dude is 6’5" and they had Arrington (who’s a nickel at best, and 5’10") once they put Browner on him, it closed him down…duh
Pats deserved that game IMO, happy that they won and got a couple of monkeys off their back.

Yeah lots of time. I think their thinking is if they run it in on that play and score Brady has time to get in field goal range to tie or get a TD. Supposed to be a time wasting play that still leaves them two chances for Lynch to run it in. I think Wilson just thought he saw an opening and made a bad decision.
