not sure…phil looks great but he doesn’t explode and dominate like ronnie did…everybody drinking the phil kool-aid…fuck that.

phil is awesome but the fucking industry jams there fucking tongue right up his ass. kai’s legs look a bit smaller, he was harder smaller in 2007 but better conditioned. he’s pretty on though…

i don’t think it’s phil #1 w/out question…

DEX looks fucking awesome
Well admittedly I am a big Phil fan. But still, when Kai and Phil were on stage together, Phil just looked significantly better. This image is grainy, but I think it shows.

And yeah, Dexter looks great, but I’m disappointed that Wolf didn’t get in the first callout, he looked great too.

Ok, now that the two were compared more closely, Kai is looking REALLY good this year.

I’d still say Phil’s got the win though.

get the fuck out of here w/ that pixelate thing…only in person can you really tell.

during that last phil kai comparison they went back and forth, judges switching sides to view them…had it been just to pump up crowd for a 1 vs 2 battle…e.g. for show then they wouldn’t have gone side to side.

phil looked great much like last year

kai looked tons better

it’s not about that…together, side by side…

KAI GREENE #1 back and legs were more conditioned, phil’s tri’s and bi’s better…

kai’s obliques better - more conditioned…

they mentioned shoulders/chest…kai has a better chest, phil is a bit more 3D in the chest.

shoulders - kai fuller from the rear delt - size wise it’s a pick em’

****edit - you’re correct phil’s delts look rounder from the front, kai’s looked bigger/fuller in the rear shots though.

i think it’s close enough to be a matter of personal choice. happy dex brought it…it’s amazing how top guys make you realize how far guys like evan need to come to win.

rhoden can make waves in the next few years…

sleep…zzzzzzz

kai was stronger crisper and over took phil as the comparisons went on. after pre-judging, day one, kai is in the lead. the score cards have to be fucking close…

lets see if kia can get even more diced for tomorrow…i still think kai was @ 90% condition but in a better more tapered package but still as big and bigger than phil in many shots.

i think phil was about as conditioned as he always is, perhaps he can get harder…

only politics, cash, and all of BB other bullshit is keeping the title out of his hands…hope Farah dices him even more tomorrow.

i said it and believe it, a diced kai BEATS a diced phil all day…phil pops in places others don’t but kai brings in feathering and freak factor shit that phil doesn’t have.

Kai is big and freaky but lacks the muscle belly fullness in the arms and forearms. From what I have seen, I can’t see him beating Phil.

That’s because Phil is more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes than Kai is. Also, as you, and many others have mentioned, whether or not Kai looks better really doesn’t matter: with all the social stigmas surrounding bodybuilding and Kai’s past, and the bodybuilding industry’s obvious desire to appeal to as large of a mainstream audience as possible, he will not be allowed to be the face of bodybuilding. He will most likely place 2nd.

Wolf should’ve been in the first callout though.

kai also fucked a grapefruit

This is why bodybuilding IS a sport. Those two guys trained literally the entire year just for that one moment. Both look great. I’m a Kai Greene fan, but Phil Heath deserves all the respect he gets: smart guy, winning physique. Phil is Mr.O, and even this close I see him getting the win. Still very entertaining, and better then many Olympias I’ve watched past.

If Kai does win; say tomorrow is a knock-out…It changes a lot of things.

The way Phil’s delts look from behind is fucking incredible. Glad Kai came in good condition this year.

Kai’s back is looking pretty good!

It looks like I have to eat some of my words. I did not think Kai would be top 3…
Excellent showing. Excellent.

ronnie, dorian, chis aceto, and palumbo all have kai ahead after pre-judging…

shawn ray has phil, flex seems on the fence…

it is funny how politics comes into play, w/ big pharma (supplement companies) and publications it is a strange animal – as a long term investment phil offers a much higher gross profit and longer shelf life to collect revenue.

we’ll see…

phil faded and by the end kai’s carbs and drugs were fully hitting (paraphrasing another person’s take on it).

phil looked better standing next to an off cutler than an on kai.

being fair, kai’s shoulders look down w/ his leaner tighter look, that is about the only area i see phil as superior.

fdb-kai, fls- kai, rdb-kai, rls - kai or even, side chest- kai, side tricep -phil, ab/thigh -kai, mm-phil i suppose although i lked kai’s detail

in the side shots kai’s leg detail and separation were better, phil’s tri’s are better from the side but i thought bi’s are about equal.

the entire pre-judging

go to 1hr5min in to see phil get smoked by kai.

phil standing alone is #1. i think he needs to stand next to the fridge cutler to look his best. he looks the same as last year, possibly bigger just not as good w/ out cutler to make him look better. i said all along get em’ next to each other.

even if kai loses - much like flex wheeler, kevin levrone and victor in 07 - he;s Mr. Olympia 2012!!!

For me,absolutely kai. Phils narrow clavicles are big weakness for me,and this shows when he stands beside Kai.

Oh,and Branch is disguisting.

Yeah, it’s over.

No one’s even close to Phil. They might as well just let him go home now, everyone else can figure out where they place tomorrow.
What he said

Best Kai we’ve seen in a while. If they’re gonna ever award him (deservingly) the title, it’s this year IMO.

S

TEAM KAI

Kai is the clear winner in particular his front relaxed and front double bicep look far superior to Phil in my opinion.

The top 3 should be:

 1. Kai
 2. Phil
 3. Dexter

Glad Dexter looks so good.

Last year during the Jay and Phil comparison my eyes always went over to Phil and was happy when he won because I thought he deserved the 2010 title too. But this year Kai has stolen IMO it, Phils package looks pretty much the same as last year where as Kai has just brought his A game with a whole different looking physique. The poses from the back, the side tricep poses, the most muscular!!! Kai looks ridiculous! The striations!

I don’t have a clue who the commentator in that prejudging video is but all this talk about Phil having better genetics is BS. Kais legs and back are bigger and have more striations. Phil’s arms aren’t even that much of a stand out body part next to Kai. Kais lats are so big that they make his arms look so big pushed up against them in the side tricep pose.

Phils overall look may be more aesthetic and round from the front and he wins on that aspect but Kai’s new stream lined look with a tapered waist while retaining a lot of mass is hard to beat.

While it is true that Genetics do indeed play a role at the higher levels of bodybuilding competition (I’ve mentioned this in my contest threads a few times), in THIS case, Phil’s genetics don’t give him any advantage. Sure he made fast progress over the years, sure his muscle bellies are round… BUT, last night, Kai was bigger, harder, and just looked better in every shot but the side tri, and arguably the RDB in my opinion.

Overall the commentators make silly remarks in trying to make things exciting. There’s only so much you can discuss in regard to this sport. I liked the prejudging wrap-up with Aceto and Palumbo much better. They’re both quite a bit better suited to discuss the intricacies and variables involved in contest level conditioning.
