2010 Mr Olympia

I think a good “sleeper” or random or whatever making the top 5 would be Roelly. It’s his first Mr. Olympia and I think that’d be pretty surprising. I’ve been following him in Muscular Development and I think his physique is competitive.

Theres no such thing as a sleeper pick. The most surprising thing that could happen is some random makes the top 5. If any of the 5 favorites win it wouldnt be that crazy. Especially since its becoming more common that guys are leaking pics of themselves during the contest prep. Which I like, Im just saying theres no huge surprises.
Well then what random do you think has the best chance to make top 5?
well my guess for top 5 is jay, heath, kai, victor, dexter. But I can see Roelly getting in there somehow. So ill go with Hide as a longshot but still possible for a top 5 spot.

If Kai gets his condition right, I think he will have good chances. Not too sure though if the politics are againist him.

I hope you’re referring to 1st and not the top 5. Last year he messed up his conditioning and still got 4th…

I’d think the politics would be for him because he just signed with Weider. Weider owns the contest right? Related note, I’d think they’d be against Jay and Branch because they’re not with Weider. Jay left after last year’s Olympia.

not to keep this off topic BS going but Kai dated Dayana Cadeau female BB for a bit, he also paints pics of a lot of nude women so…

who cares either way, some folks are so uncomfortable they cannot let others be.

white flash is on the down low i think.

related to the thread, new vid on shoulders, kai 4 wks out kai pressing 4 plates a side, sick.
I know we are trying to get thread on topic, but I just thought I would post this. What gets me is how easy it is for “drive by haters” to post something that can easily turn into massive gossip yet not be held accountable for shit after that.

I personally don’t care whose gay and who isn’t…but in Kai’s case, you have a guy with a very fucked up past, who is clearly creative almost to an eccentric degree, who works harder than ANYONE talking shit about him.

As pin head.

Kai is an inspiration in every sense of the word. His mentality, his determination, his philosophy, his work ethic- Things that all of us should take note of AND utilize ourselves. I dont see how people fork off topic to theories that are of no consequence, period.

Fact is, this Olympia is going to be great. if people dont make any blunders on their prepping, this is going to be an extremely tough and controversial Olympia, regardless of the winner.

How can you watch it? Do you have to pay to watch it streamed?

There is a BodyBuilding website that streams it for free.

Interesting…

I mean, Kia winning a bunch of Arnolds is one thing. That creates a stir, gets people talking and excited. Sells some tubs of protein.

Kai winning the O, well that makes him the “ambassador” for the sport. That is a whole new ball game marketing wise. Then you have the fact that he will probably have a multi year run as Mr. O, his package will be tough to beat if he is dialed in… That just opens shit up to the pot shot put-downs we see in this thread and all over this board and others.

We are talking about average Joe, ESPN, Cubical Slaves here. They get a hold of the stupid grapefruit bullshit, and next thing you know, bodybuilding is getting banned by congress because it is “bad for the kids.” (I’m being dramatic here, don’t flip your shit.) Wait till the Daily Show and Fox News get wind what the top bodybuilder in the world has done… Heaven no, the kids the kids…

Build wise, Kai owns right now. But due to his off stage stuff, I wouldn’t be surprised if they straight ass fuck him into a lifetime of second places, and then throw him a bone and a win when he is a year or two out from retirement.

But then again, why did they sign him in the first place if they weren’t going to give him a win? Is it because he is hot right now, and on teh tip of everyone’s tongue? Is it because he is about to make a 4-6 year run as Mr. O?

Maybe I’m wrong for looking at it from a business side first, body side second. I am sure the smaller shows and regional and national qualifiers and such are based much much more on physique, but I just can’t shake the notion that, particularly the O, is just as much about off the stage as it is on. (Meaning: 3-4 guys standing there who are deserving, the most marketable will win.)

If there will ever be another Arnold, and I think that is what they want, Kai certainly isn’t him.

Very interesting, and something that seems totally plausible.

Unless Kai does the nasty her.

I know it has nothing to do with the show, and I also know that judging someone based on solely their appearance is unwise. I was just commenting on a purely on a hot/not level.

Now back to the O…

How many hours before they present themselves do the athletes have their last workout?
what is a “dirty her”?

i like Kai and PHIL , jay looks too blocky for me even he look great last year.

I don’t think they would deny Kai the win if he deserved it simply because of his personal life. As far as publicity goes, the bodybuilding media portrays bodybuilders as being the model of good health and fitness although that is not always true. There is a less socially acceptable side to bodybuilding, but they don’t talk about it.

I think it would be the same with Kai. Listening to him speak, his is obviously a good role model and would make a great ambassador to the sport in that respect. Should he become Mr. Olympia, I think they would focus on his good qualities and leave his past in the past.

I hope you are right.

I mean look at other sports: Ray Lewis was involved in a fucking murder, and a lot of these south American/latin guys in baseball dropped out of school as pre-teens to train for the diamond. No one is pissed these guys are selling shoes and breakfast cereals.

Ben fucking Rothesburger (sp?) anyone? Guy rapes people for fucks sake…

idk anything about Kai Green’s personal life, but IMO, Weider probably signed him because they’re short on names. As far as I know, they only big name they have Dexter Jackson. The current big names Jay, Branch, Victor Martinez, and some new names like Roelly Winklaar, Cedric Macmillan, Evan Centopani, and Kevin English from the 202’s are with Muscular Development. Even former guys like Dorian, Shawn Ray, Lee Priest are with MD.

I think Jay will win, but if Kai wins, politics will be suspect because Jay left Weider, and Kai signed with Weider since the 09 Olympia.

Got it. Thanks

Just look at this video, the man is an alien. Many many many people have overdosed drugs, but NOBODY has come close to this. Kai Greene offseason (305lbs) - YouTube

Wait…come close to what? Being a muscular freak or overdosing? Because there are other freaks out there, and as for overdosing, he doesn’t seem to be in a hospital in that video.

Any thoughts on Dexter Jackson? I think if he places lower than 3rd this year (very possible) he’s gonna be rather upset and might consider retiring. I remember hearing him say something about only competing in the arnold for a bit to get that 4th title, but his shots at winning that aren’t what they used to be either…
