2 Months Until Maximum Strengh

Hey guys, I was wondering what everyones opionion on this is. Basically im 5’7 at 160 and about 11% bf. Im eating about 4500 cals a day and yes belive me I am I counted haah. Ive been doing an upper/lower split for the past 2 months and I have made gains in most of my lifts but not so much body weight. I plan on doing Eric cresseys maximum strengh routine when school starts in sep and its 4 months long.

My questuion is should I continue to do an upper/lower split and change the excersises and rep scheme or should I go over to a new program, something like a bodypart split or something. By the way Eric Cressey’s program is also an upper/lower split so that would mean about 8 months of upper/lower split if i continued.
thanks guys.

To me, the split is perfsonal preference. I prefer upper/lower splits to any other type of system because it fits where I am at and my recovery abilities.

Also, whether or not you are eating 4500 calories or 8500 calories… if you want to gain weight and you are not, eat more.

Whatever you want.

It’s a great program, I’m almost done with Phase 2.

true yea I mean most say do what works best but im not sure what works best yet haha. I dont have the expirence so lol. i already upped my cals from 3000 to 4500 so I dont see why I would go higher unless i stalled in a month or two

You didn’t say that originally. You said you were eating 4500 but hadn’t gained much weight. Yeah, if you just bumped it up then stick with it for a while. In general, I think you are better up with smaller calorie jumps (either up or down) say like 500 at a time for a couple of weeks, then another 500 as opposed to 1500 all at once.

ok I got ya, now i was thinking of trying beast building but im preety sure beast building and maximum strengh are alsmot the same. Or they have the same principls at least.Am I right in saying this?
