19 Inch Arms

I know the numbers are small to read but i promise that if you look close enough 19 is there.

18 to 19 took around a year and now i just have to strive for 20. i know im not lean like a bodybuilder so if you want to argue that i understand.

im 22 yrs old, 5’11, and maintain a weight around 255 lbs.

Your Huge man!

Impressive. What sort of routine do you have for them?

That is huge, congrats.

when it comes to arms i do bis and tris together. i always start with triceps because i enjoy the tricep lifts more and i think they are more important for strength then bis are. plus if i get crunched for time i dont care too much if i miss bis as long as i get my tris done hard

triceps might look like this.

close grip bench press
french presses
overhead dumbell tricep extensions or overhead rope extentions
rope pushdowns or straightbar pushdowns

biceps could be any of these

chin ups
straight bar curls, reg or reverse grip
preacher curls, reg or reverse grips
standing curls or hammer curls
cable curls or arnold curls

You got big arms man… I’d lean up now and bring out some definition… You’ll also gain some more muscle off of the rebound from the dieting…

Disagree. He is 22, not 45. Whether he truly decides to do any “damage control” is up to him, but he is surely not doing badly for reaching that size the first time around. At his age, getting caught up in that “diet the moment you look a little smooth” mentality could hold him back greatly. If anything, maybe hold the same weight for a while and clean up the diet, but there is no reason he needs to truly diet down right now.

thank you for your opinions to both hagar and prof x. also thank you prof x for inviting me to T-cell Alpha.

I actually have no urge to cut down and right now am only focused on strength and size. i think i have more of a strongman mindframe than that of a bodybuilder so i dont have any plans on attempting to be “lean” currently. In time maybe i will consider losing a little fat, but for now i am trying to maintain around 255 just to tighten up my frame a little.

i have no problem being a lil hefty as long as my strength continues to grow. my goal is just to be big, strong, and healthy. plus my gains in strength and size are going well and i dont want to change anything too dramatically unless i begin to slow or hault. if i ever feel that my bodyfat percentage has taken me away from one of those goals then i will probably consider the idea of cutting but for now its on the back burner.

Hello triceps.

its show too, triceps really stand out. Good job.

Good tris. Biceps need a bit of work. Upper arms looking good anyway.
But anterior delts need work.

You look like a bodybuilder to me! Good work.

I saw a post from Prof X where he said that guys with arms much bigger than their forearms probably used when they were young. my forearms are much smaller than my arms, but im sure its a little to do with genetics. my bis and tris / quads and hams have always grown fast while my calves and forearms are much slower.

but i also had hand surgeryy, a tendon graft in my left hand on dec 17 2005, it still almost completely stops me from doing most direct forearm work.

arms 19
forearms Left-13 1/2 Right-14
Thighs 32
calves 18

Upper arms looking really good man. In that front DB shot, shoulders stand out as needing work.

What types of numbers do you put up for your bicep and tricep numbers?

19’s is a big step though man. I’m just getting started on the road to 18. Keep it up.

Wow awesome job. You’re the same height as me. lol god I’ve got so much more mass to gain before I “fill” out even close to that.

Congrats on your achievement, follow this guys’ advice.

That’s a great achievement.

How long have you been lifting?

Most pro bodybuilders have cut down and done shows by the time they were 22, so I don’t see how that could hold him back… Anyways I saw this post in the bodybuilding forum and didn’t realize he was only interested in strength and size… Me I don’t want to look like just another bloated gym rat.

I’ve read a few of your posts and you seem to be an anti diet guy… Not sure why, I’ve never seen pics of you, maybe you have great genetics and are naturally lean but a lot of people aren’t…

But see, I’m not “anti-diet” at all. I am, however, against guys in the prime of life as far as gains that can be made focusing more on body fat percentages than whether their muscles are actually growing as they get stronger. In fact, that is what is implied with “damage control”. You do what needs to be done to stay in decent shape, but actually going on a full tilt “diet until I am 8%bf” cardio-a-thon will keep most of these guys running in circles if their goal is to make significant progress beyond that.

Does he appear ready for a contest especially with his current goals? For him to match his current size with a much lower body fat percentage may take him another year or two depending on genetics.

And mind you, no one is knocking your own progress as I doubt very many 45 year olds look anything like the way you do now.
