19 Inch Arms!

Well I ran over to the use the same measurer that Way has like a happy little fat kid about to devour a pastry to only realize that I’m .5 shy of the requirement. Haven’t measured them in forever because I aspire to be like Senor X. lolz Keep it up Way!

P.S Burger King arms LMFAO!!
Ya know whats weird, there are like no Burger Kings in the Cincinnati area. I’ll have to settle for Skyline Chili arms. Those places are fucking everywhere.

You fuckers. I’m gonna have to train arms so I can pump em up over 19. Just checked for the first time in a long time and they were 18 and 3/4. Nice job everyone.

I hate many of you, because I lack a peak like a son of a bitch.

I counted 6 posts of pics of 19"+ arms on this whole site? Including Prof. X, morepain and C-C that count is up to 9. Prof. X is so right:

“Professor X wrote:
I am betting there are less than 20 guys on this entire site that actually LOOK like serious weight lifters and train hard regularly.”

That is why Tmuscle caters to non-serious lifters. We are everywhere and aplenty, and help to financially support this site.

FTR, 19 inch arms are not necessary to look like a serious weightlifter that trains hard regularly. If they were, we’d start excluding guys like bwhitwell, 1morerep, dirtygirty, etc. who all look great but aren’t at 19" yet. Shit, bwhitwell and 1more rep will probably never get there. Plus, there are people who don’t post as often who I’m sure would qualify as serious weight lifters (Prisoner, Amsterdam Animal (still posts in BOI at times), etc.).

Obviously there are many non serious lifters here, but as with most anything in life, the majority of the people here fall into the intermediate category.

I believe CT is under 19 also. But I’m not 100% on that. hell, I don’t know that franco was over 19on stage.

grant it there is a huge difference is an extra lean 19’ and a fat 19’.

I will never give up though! I am taking the advice of X and others on increasing calories, changing some set/rep schemes to see if I can get alittle more growth before I get any older. If I don’t get another cm, I still loved every minute of my training.

Mine are 19.5 untrained but I can’t post pics. Its funny I realized my arms were really growing when I went into a jewel and tried to take my blood pressure and I couldn’t even get my forearm in the machine. what about forearms we need to start a forearm thread I think huge forearms are a must.

Awww cmon now. I’m not saying it isn’t an accomplishment, but I think there’s a certain level of development warranted for public bragging rights and I don’t think it includes 18".
Even if you’re 5’6"?

I guess I need to get to work on my “lagging” 28 inch thighs too since those would totally look small on someome who is 6 inches taller.

Very good point Stronghold.

The number on the tape measure means about as much as the weight on the scale in bodybuilding…almost next to nothing in competition.

To illustrate, I recently saw a 5’4" middle weight kill the entire field at a BBing show. Weighing a max of 176 lbs, this guy looked like a shorter Melvin Anthony. The rest of the field was tough, with conditioned guys on into the SuperHeavies. Why did he win? It wasn’t for biggest arms for sure, or for total weight, it was for overall physique.

True bodybuilders (by true, I refer to the competitive community since this is the ‘BB’ forum) realize out of proportioned arms can be destructive in your scores. Huge arms doesn’t guarantee anything, you must have it all to be successful.

Shape is much more important than size, yet with my 6’ frame, I do need 20+" in my arms to keep my back and legs from outweighing them. I have gone periods of not training arms specifically due to my shoulders and chest not developing as quickly to keep the balance.

Shawn Ray has stated numerous times that he never measured any bodypart due to him knowing that it was much smaller than the competiton…but he did pretty ‘ok’ to say the least in his BB career, Wouldn’t you say?..lol

All in all…there are no tape measures on the competitive stage.

I have NEVER seen someone with arms that were literally too big or disproportionate unless synthol was involved. Phil Heath is about as close to that as one can get and it still causes him to simply stand out more because of it.

That muscle group is a little like shoulders…you would have to look like a cartoon for it to be “too big”…which means most humans will never have to worry about building biceps or shoulders that are “too big”.

I understand what you were getting at as far as looks being the determinate over a measurement and I agree. I just don’t think biceps are at risk on too many people of being “over developed” unless they are some genetic freak in that department or fill it up with oil.

I know he is definitely the exception and not the rule, but wouldnt you say that Lee Priest’s arms are too big for some poses ? Im not sure if its narrow clavicles or over sized arms but his most muscular always looks wrong to me.

But on the other hand he has gotten plenty of attention for them.

Haha, good luck, man. 98% of the people on this site would love to look like you, 19" arms or not.

I disagree. Lee’s arms are one of those freaky “signature” parts that every bodybuilder should possess.
He’s got that “cartoon” factor.

lol

I’m a huge fan of Lee’s, I’ve met him and got the chance to talk to him for 10 minutes or so, think he has really gotten a raw shake in the IFBB.

I was just saying that his arms so are so big that they do kinda mess with that one pose, and yes, he totally looks like something out of a comic book.

I agree with you, Prof. X, that pros cannot have too big of arms. Evan Centopani is a great example as well…but these are pros who have good overall developement too. At the amature level, every BB show has a guy with crazy arms but his back, shoulders, or legs are weak, causing his body to look less pleasing. Big legs can overshadow upperbodies, Erik Fankhouser in my oppinion is pushing this envelope…I digress…

I see “Billy Biceps” at every gym, but his name could also be “Chick-legged Dick” in most cases…lol. I’m just big on aesthetically pleasing physiques.
