Head over to the 35+ section of this forum. Yes, I realize you are not over 35, but there is a lot of advice over there about TRT, especially from guys like KSMan.
Meanwhile, keep looking for other doctors. You’re 18, so you should be able to go to appointments without your mom. (Sorry if that sounded rude, it wasn’t meant to be.) What I’m trying to say is that the quest for a good willing doctor may take time and effort, both of which are easier if you don’t have to bother your mother every time.
Good luck with every thing. Hopefully in conjunction with your doctor, the guys here can get you feeling better.
You could try out something a little less invasive. Alpha Male perhaps? A ZMA supplement? Others will probably need more information before they can recommend anything.
am I being foolish for getting upset over 278 testosterone?
Is it foolish to seek HRT?

You are definitely not being foolish trying to give yourself the best quality of life possible. The only foolish thing would be to make a hasty decision that you could regret. You should continue to try and figure out what is wrong. I don’t really have much advice but you should get a full hormone panel done. Testing for testoserone levels alone is not enough to figure this out.

I wouldn’t want to try something like that when I could be under medical super vision. I don’t want to mess my body up with 3rd party items like those, I want expert opinion.

Then why are you looking on forums? Not to discount anyone here, some of whom are undoubtedly very intelligent, but if you want expert opinions, go and get them from experts.
Another question would be what does your life style look like?
do you do any physical activities?
i say this because 4est (member on here) had a case like yours with a young guy who had very low test, but helped him change his life style around and thus brought his hormone levels back to normal.
ill try and find the link if you dont mind a bit of a read.

I was going to give you advice, but then I read this crap and realized I would be wasting my time. Good luck.
Don’t blindly take pills, you can botch a cycle like me, and have 211 test level for 8 months and not even know it. Read up on how this stuff works, pm me if you want something bonafide to read on the subject. Seek HRT. Are you economically well-off? That will be a major determinante on your ability to use AAS honestly.

Well then make up your mind and do it.
Realize however, testosterone does not a man make. If you are weak in some ways now, test will not change that, it may even make it worse. The power of the mind and will are free from hormones. Some may say otherwise, but I disagree. During this time that I’ve been low test and didn’t know, I’ve gotten into random fist fights, slept with some girls, made money and even did a pl exhibition tournament. This period has made me realize, my strength did not derive from my test, but from my mentality.
So if you’re neurotic and unsure of yourself now, AAS won’t solve that, only your spirit and strength of mind can do that. So test or not, you must take your fist, and make your life.
Test Levels Fluctuate all day long youll need a couple tests done before going in conclusions
also before going on TRT youll need a complete Blood Test (thyroid,Vitamins, electrolytes, liver function, cholesterol,Lh,Oestradiol… etc etc etc )
Your also a bit young to think about TRT
But i can understand since i think about it too …

What?
Why is he too young? If he has test levels that make him feel like shit, there isn’t a limit for TRT. I’m not saying this is the only solution, but putting an age limit on treatment is ridiculous.

Your right theres shoulnt be any age limit to seek for TRT
Just trying to highlight the fact that other things may be tried before going for it.
TRT is not something you decide to go on overnight because you have the money or the access to it , its something you have to engage yourself into it for a long period even for life sometimes.
Finally i think this kind of decision is hard to take with the judgement of an 18 years old guy looking desperately for manhood .

Yep, and as an ‘adult’ he needed to tell his Mom to get his testosterone checked? He wants HRT, but doesn’t want to “mess up” his body with zinc and magnesium? It just doesn’t make sense.

I was referring to Alpha Male, which has not been tested by the FDA, and could mess me up. For instance, how do I know if Alpha Male would conflict with any of my body/hormones/blood levels? (not sure how to phrase that, I just don’t want Alpha Male to mess up any of my bodily functions)
theres no way of me knowing if Alpha Male is safe for MY body, I’m not saying it doesn’t work, but why risk it?
Why not use a proven method (TRT) under the supervision of someone who went through 10 years of schooling, instead of using some pills I heard about on the internet.
I’m not saying Alpha Male doesn’t work, Im saying that I don’t want to play guessing games with my body, I just want to have a happy quality of life.
Look at it this way, your 18 and you may have found a solution to a problem that you otherwise would have suffered with the rest of your life. When I was 18 I began experiencing a sleeping dissorder that was probably related to low test. Don’t know for sure but no matter what a did in the gym I could not put on any size. Now that I got things staighten out, I’m not falling asleep during the day and I’m making good progress in the gym. My point is it took my 30 years to even learn of the solution for me. I have been to many doctors over the years and none of them check my hormone levels and likely would have said the same thing that yours did.
So look at this as the beging of solution. It might take some time to find the right doctor but you have plenty of that ahead of you. Just be glad you have found so place to start educating yourself. Hell, maybe you should think about medicine as a career path. Your own health can be a very strong motivator.
