you gettin them videos up anytime soon man?

Why are you all hassling a 14 year old about posting videos?
Because no one wants to come out and say it (they disguise it through 'yea definitely man post the videos so we can give you advice on your form) but they don’t believe the numbers.

A 14 year old kid exaggerating his numbers on an Internet forum to a bunch of adults?

A 14 year old kid exaggerating anything at all?

It takes a big man to call a little kid out on stuff like that. But, best to nip this kind of thing in the bud, I suppose.

I mean… I squat 500 “internet” lbs. too. and run a 4.19 “internet” 40. its kinda like being an “internet” badass. its just annoying. but hey, if I see the vids I will be the first to worship the ground you stand on!!

I second what Prof X said about plyos. You don’t need them now. Plyos are basically for refinement. What I mean is, although they are very, very useful they are also chronically overused by nearly every high school coach who wants to be on the cutting edge. Also, they are often used with athletes who are way too young. Your playing of multiple sports will take care of most things for a few years yet to come. If you want a boost for speed, you can always run short term sprint training cycles. At this point all you need are basic power exercises (cleans, snatch, etc). Basics first, exotics second.

Additionally, plyos are EXTREMELY hard on the body, joints, and tendons. They don’t feel difficult at all and lead to almost no soreness, so almost everybody (esp. HS coaches) overtrain them in a major way. Thibaudeau wrote a few good pieces on plyo training…I believe his current thoughts are no more than 45 total ground contacts in a week. A week. And no more than 2-4 consecutive weeks of plyos before you stop training them.

The whole point of plyos is as a short term shock training method for plateau busting or for quick performance jumps leading into a major comp. They’re great, but only if used sparingly (eg–a max of maybe 6-8 weeks training them in a whole year) and with more experienced trainees.

Who gives a shit? Yeah, they are probably not his numbers, but he is no doubt strong as anything for a kid his age, and he still has lots of potential.

It sucks that people are calling him out so they can feel better about their own lifts, rather than giving him the advice he needs to excel.

Agreed. He’s 14. I could see pushing this if he was at least old enough to vote or even old enough to drive, but 14 is just past playing with action figures. Leave the kid alone and try to guide him in the right direction.

Honestly, calling shenanigans on someones lifts is fine in most cases, but if that picture in your profile is you, then Id say its jealousy. While a 410 deadlift at his age is pretty awesome, its not out of the realm of possibility.

What Im seeing in this thread is a kid who is working hard and willing to do what it takes to get stronger and perform at his sport, and not only that, he is open to advice from people who have been at this longer than him. What Im also seeing is the army of 125-150 lb kids coming out to attack him as if hes somehow gone against the skinny undereater’s union by actually eating and working like he wants results.

At 125 lbs, stop worry about what other people lift and focus on your own progress. Iv seen a couple of these kids doing this in other threads. Dont be critical of others physiques when yours consists of little more than bones.

Its just some other jealous 15 year olds trying to piss on his results since they havent done what it takes to see results of their own. You know, just like the guys on highschool football teams that work hard get accused of steroids by those of their peers who just dont want it badly enough.

GeneticSmoke, there’s only one person you need to listen to, Professor X. Let him (and him alone!) guide you in your efforts and you’ll be big and strong. Great job so far.

damn dude you really dont look 14 and thats only from 1 year of lifting?! i have been lifting for 2 years and i dont even remotely look like that

With all respect to Proffesor X that is horrible advice.

You should never get all your information from ANY one person.

I think a 14 year old would benefit from the mentorship of Professor X, especially if building muscle is the main focus. He doesn’t seem to get lost in the “fads du jour” like many on this site.

He’s pretty much right Professor. While I don’t think he’s exaggerating I have some doubts about his form.I go to school with a bunch of 14 year olds saying they can squat insane weight and power clean as much as most of the varsity players when in reality they never squatted more than halfway down and wouldn’t recognize a power clean if they were wathcing the Olympics.

In fact I used to be that kid with 4 plates on the side doing quarter squats until someone finally told me to quit fuckin around take some weight off and learn to get deep.I’m thankful for that information more than anything.

Everyone on this thread has given him good information on everything he can do except his form because no one has seen it.I didn’t mean to seem like I was on his ass or anything and I apologize to him if I did.

First of all, I am 20, not 15, and have been lifting on and off (due to some major injuries all caused by football i.e. broken hip, lacerated liver, dislocated shoulder, etc, etc, etc…) since I was 13 years old.

Second of all, if you re-read my posts you will see that I am not calling him out just to be a dickhead, I was simply stating that his numbers, if true, were quite unbelievable and if in fact they are genuine I will be the first to say that the kid is the fucking man.

Third of all, the real people I was calling out was everyone on this topic pestering and badgering the kid to post his videos so they could “offer some critique on his form” instead of just coming out and admitting they think he is bullshitting.

So what if he is though, like everyone else said, the kid is 14 and the main thing that should be focused on his giving him some good advice so he can succeed.

And lastly, I will admit that there would be, on my part anyways, some envy at how blessed this kid is if his numbers are true seeing as how I’m 5’7", 160 lbs., 6 years older, and only deadlift 10 lbs. more.

Damn, I am 22 weigh 200lbs and your lifts are about the same as me.

Good stuff man and great attitude, I think westside for a skinny bastard would be perfect for you, incorporates running/agilty drills and you should get ALOT stronger following something like that.

my weight fluctates from about 196-203 depending on time of day, etc so dont sweat 2lbs

weigh yourself first thing in the morning to keep a consistant reading.

Also as mentioned before eat eat and EAT, track your calories on fitday, if you arnt gaining with 3,500 try 4,000 if you arnt gaining with 4,000 than bump it up some more. At 14 you look like you have a real high metabolism eat 6-8 times a day. It can be hard to get in lots of food but their is some ways to help

make your own weight gainer shake for breakfest, you can get in an easy 1,000 calories for breakfest (if needed) I use
1 cup uncooked oatmeal
2 cups whole milk
2 scoops protein powder
1 cup frozen blueberries
a dash of extra virgin olive oil to bump the calories up some more comes out to around 1,100 calories, easy to take in to.

eat plenty of nuts, pack a couple peanut butter and jellys for in between classes

DRINK LOTS OF MILK!

etc

good luck and most of all train hard

It would be nice if most of the teenagers logging in had even half of the drive and enthusiasm this kid seems to have. If he sticks with it, he will be running rings around any competition on the field and with the opposite sex by graduation.

The emo fad can only last so long before the pendulum swings back the other way.

lets fucking hope so im tired of all the girls thinking that 90 lb guys wearing womens jeans is attractive.

LOL, I was wearing my mom’s pants 3 years ago.

i thought you were 45?
Really? Dang!

fightingtiger, please dude, im 13 and lift in the mid 200’s. abvoiusly that isnt something to be boasting about… but I’m not some 16 year old kid being jealous of his lifts… maybe I’ll get to geneticsmokes “supposed” numbers someday soon.

its just I see that he says “ohh i lift from 4am to noon…” well what program are you on that lets you lift 8 hours straight? I mean an almost 3 times bodyweight deadlift is a HUGE accomplishment that some people strive for there whole life.

It takes nutrition, dedication, and an excellent program. and lifting 8 hours a day SCREAMS newbie to me!! and not very many noobies pull 2.75 times there bodyweight.

Did you do a set of pushups when you were 13 and then wait 6 years and 9 months to start lifting again?

fightingtiger… come on now! saying that im some 15 year old kid who would be likely to accuse someone better then me of steroids… ive grown so much physically and maturlly from when i first started lurking this site, its just ignorant to say something like that.
