Damn, I am 22 weigh 200lbs and your lifts are about the same as me.

Good stuff man and great attitude, I think westside for a skinny bastard would be perfect for you, incorporates running/agilty drills and you should get ALOT stronger following something like that.

my weight fluctates from about 196-203 depending on time of day, etc so dont sweat 2lbs

weigh yourself first thing in the morning to keep a consistant reading.

Also as mentioned before eat eat and EAT, track your calories on fitday, if you arnt gaining with 3,500 try 4,000 if you arnt gaining with 4,000 than bump it up some more. At 14 you look like you have a real high metabolism eat 6-8 times a day. It can be hard to get in lots of food but their is some ways to help

make your own weight gainer shake for breakfest, you can get in an easy 1,000 calories for breakfest (if needed) I use
1 cup uncooked oatmeal
2 cups whole milk
2 scoops protein powder
1 cup frozen blueberries
a dash of extra virgin olive oil to bump the calories up some more comes out to around 1,100 calories, easy to take in to.

eat plenty of nuts, pack a couple peanut butter and jellys for in between classes

DRINK LOTS OF MILK!

etc

good luck and most of all train hard

It would be nice if most of the teenagers logging in had even half of the drive and enthusiasm this kid seems to have. If he sticks with it, he will be running rings around any competition on the field and with the opposite sex by graduation.

The emo fad can only last so long before the pendulum swings back the other way.
lets fucking hope so im tired of all the girls thinking that 90 lb guys wearing womens jeans is attractive.

Thanks KO for the pointers and ill be sure to take the weight gainer in the morning i used to take it before every meal and well to what Professor X said bout enthusiasm lets just say i wana make it big when i get older and i know that getting to the pros in NFL or making it Pro in PBB dont come free so im getting a head start
Damn right if you want to be at the top you got to earn it.

I wasnt talking about a weightgainer like you would buy at GNC but if it is needed to get the calories in than use it.

If I where you I would focus on football right now, work on your skills and just putting on slabs of size and strength. Last time I checked you don’t get full scholorships for bodybuilding.

You can always get into bodybuilding later and football will give you the strength and base to quickly become competitive in bodybuilding

K will do

Your bodyweight is more dependant on water fluctuations than anything else. Deviations of 3-5lbs is NORMAL for most people. Some football players have been known to lose over 10lbs over the course of a game. You are worried about things that don’t matter.

As a rule, you shouldn’t weigh yourself AFTER you lift weights. The number you get is insignificant and depends on your workout. If you are going to weigh yourself, do so under the same conditions at the same time of day. Anything else is just random and pointless.

K ill keep that in mind

I dunno man I wouldn’t worry about weight too much. I used to weigh myself everyday, a few times a day…being obsessed about it.

I eventually just focused on eating tons and training hard in the gym. That’s all I focused on, those 2. I weighed myself 1 every 2 weeks to see how my weight was doing and I was gaining.

Just make sure your eating consistently, getting in the amount of cals you need and bustin ass in the gym. That’s what matters.

You are real strong and built well for 14 but you don’t need to take progress pics every week, every couple months more like it.

Just keep eating, getting stronger and faster, if you need advice on anything ask.

Along with that, these pictures are for YOUR OWN RECORDS. In ten years, you will be very glad you took them and they will stand to speak for you when people walk up to you and assume that you were always developed or that “genetics” are the single reason you look the way you do.

Posting them here on a regular basis doesn’t serve much purpose.

I wish your thread was pasted to the top of the forum because you are exactly the type of person who will go far if they maintain the drive you appear to have and the open mind to listen to those with more experience. I hope you succeed at everything you do, but no one is going to see significant change from week to week and even expecting that much of a difference in such short time periods will do nothing but set you back. You will begin second guessing yourself and comments made by others that don’t boost your effort will be what helps hold back progress.

In other words, save the pictures for yourself. Post back in a year and really surprise some people. That will boost your ego and drive more than expecting praise every single week with every new set of pictures.

One more word of advice…if you measure your biceps or quads or anything, write the measurement down and then DON’T MEASURE AGAIN FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER YEAR. Your body doesn’t make huge changes that fast (even at your age even though it will grow faster than most). Expecting weekly change or even monthly change could lead to you changing your routine too quickly when that may be the exact routine that will work best for you long term.

Gauge progress by strength, your body weight, and the mirror…not the tape except on very rare occasions.

K i will keep what both of you said in mind btw i have a question i would like my trap muscles to get bigger and i was wondering if you guys have any pointers, these are my workouts for my trap.

1st Trap Workout= 7am I shoulder shrug 45 pounds 30 times

2nd Trap Workout= 1pm I shoulder shrug 25 pounds 50 times

Last Trap Workout= 5pm I Shoulder shrug 100 pounds 4 times 3 sets

Won’t the 2nd and 3rd workouts throughout the day just interfere with the recovery from the first workout? I’m not sure why you would want to do this. I think that it would be more effective to just go heavy one time in the day.

Agreed. We understand you want big traps, but that doesn’t come from all day trap training. It comes from years of lifting heavy shit intelligently enough to not burn yourself out before you even make much progress.

Why are you training times a day? If it is sports related, why so much attention to that one muscle group? While I think “overtraining” is over-rated, you are pushing it.

So what your saying is work my traps once during the day but use heavy weight right?
GeneticSmoke wrote:

I train traps once or twice a week with shoulders. Are you hitting the gym more than once a day? There are bodybuilders who do that but they generally train only one body part at a time when they do so. They may train chest in the morning and then go back for triceps at night. People like that generally work in the gym or simply don’t have real jobs, however.

You shouldn’t be doing all day training for one body part. You will burn yourself out by doing so and your gains will stop.
