jesus, last year was my first year and i hit 35 something, my legs were also pussy shit back then, i could squat 225 for like 1 and now its up to 10:) so i have a feeling iw ill do much better next season
yea i know exactly what you mean i improve almost 10 feet from junior to senior year mostly by working my legs out more. i was basically your stereotypical upperbody only lifter until senior year.

a heavy dose of cleans, snatches and squats helped me a lot especially since my technique was pretty bad.

that’s funny, i got worse AFTER i improved my technique. i went from using the freshman shuffle to a pretty decent glide. so much for that, lol

age 18 bw 265
bench-365
squat-440 i messed up my hip
dead-430- i kno my squats higher than my dead im built like a stump and i suck at em.
clean-255
so im 1490

Here’s my breakdown (the bench and squat are conservative raw maxes)

SQ - 210kg

You get 160 lbs out of a single ply squat suit?
Nooo… 210kg = 462lb, so I get around 130-140lb out of the suit and wraps together. I SHOULD be able to get more tbh. If I can bring my abs and upper back up more I should continue to see good carryover.

you my friend, are no stump. your forearms are stumps. i guess i’m easily impressed, but you look like a farm kid that could palm a bowling ball

Raw? With good form? High school kids? You can’t be serious. With a 1400lb raw total you could grab some quality shirts and suits and they’d be hitting Elite, or at least Masters-class in half of the weight classes.

If you see a high school kid do a LEGIT 405 squat, that is damned impressive. I’m not saying to set low standards, but statements like you just made are part of the reason that kids are quarter-squatting and partner-benching, because they think everybody and their mom can squat 405 or bench 315.

yea i was a pretty awful glider but i did get to go to a clinic where they helped me improve a couple things about my technique. at first i dropped down a few feet (assuming it was because of lacking fluidity and practice) but after a few weeks my throws really shot up.

you should really stick with throwing its a shitload of fun and there’s just a really satisfying feeling with throwing a cast iron ball farther than you ever have before.

no not high school for sure, but in general yes 1400 raw is considered good and respectable. It’s something almost anyone could achieve also, its basically low 500 squat, 500ish dead, mid 300 bench. Could take a few years but its a good total # to shoot for in my opinion-considering you have decent size as in over 200lbs ext-.

For average high school kid, I thought going over 1k is good-I didn’t know many that could either-

Heres me;

BP:150kg
SQ:205
DL:250
PC:115

Total: 720/1587Lbs

Age: 20
Weight: 90/198.45Lbs

Typing those numbers really tickles my echo for some reson maybe it was a bad idea.

Um there is no way you power clean 215kg, do you have a video? That is olympic level lift at your bodyweight.

How do you power clean more then you squat?

Do you not squat under the bar to do it?

Ok calm down its obviously a typo PC is 115kgs and I went back to edit it. Is there really guys who can power clean that much at 90kgs? not that I don’t believe you just sounds like crazy.

Depends what you think of power clean, a lot just think of getting under the bar instead of being in a near standing position which it should be.

So for a full clean I’m sure a couple very elite 85kg+ olympic lifters could full clean it, almost none could jerk it though. Yeah was ridiculous to think that was possible though.
