12 Week Strength Challenge Question

Jim - I have a question regarding the 12 week Strength Challenge (beginning on page 88 of your Beyond book). My question is in regards to the 5 sets following the main sets. You do make a note that you can use 5 sets of 5-8 of first set last of the opposite exercise.

My question is, can you use 5 sets of 5-8 of the SAME exercise instead - so you do your work sets of the squat for example, can you follow that up with 5 sets of 5-8 of squats (first set last), and similarly follow up the main exercise with 5 sets of 5-8 of the same exercise instead of the opposite like stated in the book.

For most of your challenges, you have said this is fine, but you don’t mention that at all with this one, and I wanted to make sure that still falls into what you are programming with this challenge also.

Yes. You can do either one of those. The FSL protocol is light enough that you can do the opposite movement or the same movement.
