1-leg deadlift

Anyone have a pic or description of a 1-leg deadlift? It’s listed as a lift in the second part of Christian Thibaudeau’s OVT workout.

Thanks

I’ve heard of a one-arm deadlift. I like those.

Run a search with T-mag toggled, not T-forums, and look in the Ian King articles that come up. I know there were some pics in one of his older articles.

As the previous poster said, look through some Ian King stuff.

I think he called it the “King Deadlft”.

Ian King: Limping Series

12 weeks of pain, Part II, The Limping Series.

Exercise: King deadlift (he invented it)

the 1-leg deadlift:

step one: steal mannequin from local department store or sneak into Tim Patterson’s dungeon of love and grab one of his “real” dolls

step two: take apart mannequin at the hip. in the case of a “real” doll, you may need to saw it off (in this case, take the brunette and not the blonde, Tim’s got a special spot for “Desiree”)

step three: take leg to local gym or fitness center. perform deadlifts with the leg as part of your regular routine. other members may want to borrow the leg for their own one-legged deadlift pleasures. be a good gym member and share. other members may try to dry hump the leg like a lassie or an anna nicole-smith. do not let this happen as cleaning will take time away from your workout and improper cleaning my lead to a grip strength deficit.

step four: return leg to proper owners. if a mannequin, simply reattach leg and return to department store citing the mistake that you thought it was your brother. if part of a “real” doll, reattach as best as you can with duct tape. rumour has it that Tim does it in the dark so he won’t notice the patchwork.

let’s make sure Tim doesn’t see this so i can still get free stuff.

good luck.

violenvegan,

you can find a picture and explaination of the ‘1-leg deadlift’ in chad waterbury’s “outlaw strength and conditioning” program.

all the best, and good to know someone else is on the OVT!

Darren

Thanks for all of the replies. Looks like there are two versions of the one legged deadlift out there.

One by Ian King called “King Deadlifts” found here and described as a "single-leg, bent-knee deadlift:

The other in Chad Waterbury’s Outlaw Strength and Conditioning called the “One-Legged Dumbbell Deadlift.” found here:

The latter looks more like a 1-leg straight leg deadlift.

Don’t know which one CT is referring to, but both seem like pretty good lifts.
