1.75 x Bodyweight?

In the strength standard type articles, when it says a squat or deadlift is 1.75 x bodyweight does that mean the exercise is performed with 1.75 x bodyweight on the bar OR does it mean that the exercise is performed with 0.75 x bodyweight on the bar (and the “system weight” of body + bar = 1.75 x bodyweight)?
