Was gonna say that since maybe you and I live in such a big city that maybe our point of reference is different, but Greg’s in San Diego (I think?) so it’s not like he’s holed up in some Podunk li’l burg. I train at the midtown 24, and there are at least 10 dudes at any given time that are better built. I’m not even talking about shear size, I mean guys that are 5’10-6’2-ish that probably weigh between 190-220, but are lean, muscular and look like they’re in phenomenal shape. This dude was in killer shape for sure, but it’s not like that’s hard to come by.
Ya I’m in San Diego. Don’t get me wrong, I see guys better built than that but 10+ everyday in every gym is not the norm IMO.

I’ve trained at two different 24’s who maybe had a couple, another locally owned gym that had 1 and I’m back at Golds now who has maybe 4-5?

Now I was at World Gym down here and there were more than 10 guys. There are quite a few pro’s who train there so, yeah, your statement would apply but as far as on average I’d say that it’s not true.

Again, if its so easy why aren’t there even 10 guys who post regularly here who look better? Lol
Man, I think this site (and maybe workout sites in general) draw in people that love to talk shop and enjoy lifting, but those that are truly dedicated to reach that upper level spend their time doing, not talking (or in this case, typing).
Ya I agree… There are some that enjoy both though.

Did you see the article on ESPN about Mike Browns job being in jeopardy if this upcoming 6 game homestead doesn’t go well? As a fan I hope it doesn’t lol. Bring back Phil!!! Of bring in Sloan or even D’Antoni

This is very true. Most of the really huge guys I know truly don’t sit around discussing most of the stuff that comes up on this board.

Either way, yeah, if you live in a big city with a football team, I am guessing you see more huge guys at the gym IF THE GYM ITSELF ISN’T CATERING TO ONLY SOCCER MOMS. If your gym doesn’t have any huge guys in it, then yes, it is a soccer mom gym.

LOL.

Just like in that Hodge Twins thread, what you built matters a whole lot.

It’s great to ACT like you know what you’re talking about. Way better to show it.

Definitely. There are a few dudes here that toe that line.

Nah, missed it. You gotta figure the writing’s on the wall though. What’re the odds Jackson would come back? Actually, D’antoni isn’t a bad idea with that roster.

^^I doubt Phil would come back but you can’t fault a guy dreaming.

Zyzz clearly acts like a douche and states that it’s his character. If people get annoyed by him they should just ignore him. I don’t watch Frank Yang videos and then get offended by him acting “weird.”

anyways, I think Zyzz’s message is great

eat healthy
lift weights
be lean
bang bishes

bodybuilding is the pursuit of aesthetics…Prof if I reach your age without ever once getting shredded I’ll consider myself a failure of an athlete.

LOL.

I am at work now treating patients. I lift for myself so why would I be worried about reaching your idea of shredded?

Some of you kill me with this. Most of you won’t even be lifting at all by the age of 30 so that makes it even funnier.

If all I accomplished by this age was getting shredded I would consider myself a failure period.

If i havent buried The UnderTaker alive by the time Im 30 i will consider myself a failure.

Tellin yall WrestleMania 38

…and I just finished a 3 hour block of med school exams. You act like a bodybuilding guru but aren’t a very successful one yourself.

I’m sure I’ll be lifting at the age of 30 so don’t you dare EVER insult my future self.

Uh, good for you? I don’t have to “act” like anything other than what I am…a guy who lifted weights as a skinny kid and got big all while going to school at the same time.

Why would my focus be on “being a successful bodybuilder”? That doesn’t pay well and the health benefits suck. Is there something I’m missing?

Look, guys like you sound a little funny with this. It comes across as some weird desire to stop other people from ever thinking I know anything about lifting.

You only do that if you feel threatened.

If I was here spouting such useless info that it needed your response here, I am sure the last 10+ years would have sorted that out.

Thanks though…and happy lifting!

I LOLed

I just sent my future self an email. He sent me back pics from his iPhone 45.6 G23. They are in 3d…and live.

haha I just got pics back from my future Microsoft Zunephone 2. Shit’s all pixelated

anyways, you have a fair enough point. For me, I enjoy posting on these forums because I can talk with lifters much more successful than myself, which is something I don’t get at any gyms near me. My end goals are different from yours so there’s not much point in arguing.

Maybe this isn’t the right place to ask, but why do you lift?

When you were a skinny kid, I get that you wanted to be big. But now that you’re big, why do you continue to lift?

No agenda in asking; just curious.

I’m lifting to get big(ger) and look better, but I’m really not sure what I’ll do when I reach that point.

zyzz threads always bring out the haters.

I dont know if you ever reach “that Point”, also it becomes part of who you are, how you run your life and when you dont lift you feel lost. Im just a gym rat and I am past my “window” in a lot of ways, however when I am out of town working and cant get to a gym I feel like shit and really ready to lift when I get back home.

I am a gymrat. This is a lifestyle. Most of the guys here trying to tell me how to post likely won’t even be lifting 10 years from now. Most people don’t or can’t keep this up for a lifetime because they never do make it a LIFESTYLE.

I lift to get big and to look good. What point did I reach? I am still working to make more progress…and as far as I can see, there are very few who can gain that much muscle, let alone while also getting a decent education and working hard in an unrelated field.

Great minds think alike, I pretty much said the same thing in post before you

Yeah, I see that now.

That is why I had written before that there is much value in the advice of someone who is still huge into their 40’s and later. It means they didn’t JUST learn how to get huge. They learned how to do it and not quit like the other 90% of the population.

That is one thing people don’t seem to get. Who the fuck cares if you did everything “perfect”…but quit 7 years later?

There is a reason most people who went to grad school or professional school like law or medical school don’t have 20" arms. It is fucking hard to do that and focus on education that much at the same time.

That is what makes comments about somehow being a failure because of not being “shredded” sound absolutely ridiculous.

I would have to see all of the people truly getting big first to give a shit.
