I think I would use heavy KB swings as an accessory exercise after doing your deads. Kind of like doing heavy sled work after deads. Hits the hams etc.
But light KB swings sound like a great warmup before deads.

Totally agree. Got a few things I’m trying to iron out with the KB’s and conditioning but may have to suck it up and do them after deads as you suggested.
Off topic, it’s cold as hell this morning, hope it warms up before I hit the hill. I have a hard time breathing when doing cardio in the cold.

Yeah, I’ve really learned a lot from reading and watching his stuff. I’m glad you got some value out of this. The Russian stuff is also cool and obviously Dan thinks highly of Pavel so they are not competing methods.

Hey dday here is another site worth checking out. I really thought his instructional DVD was great. He keeps it simple but really effective. I don’t know if you can just get the instructional DVD or not. Maybe email them and see? I also really liked his workout system, its more about conditioning than strength which is what i am looking for from the kb’s.

Edit: also not big on people who make up those own certification either lol. But I try to keep an open mind and learn from many different avenues.
That site is pretty interesting, watched several of Daniels videos, seemed to work for him. Going to try to find some of the Skoggs videos online then maybe order the set.
So far I’m really enjoying the KB’s and have found many other uses for them in my regular training but mostly just playing around and seeing what I like.

It’s official stomach flu, well self diagnosed anyway. Came home about 1:30p almost passed out several times between my desk and bed. Got home and it was coming out both ends (sorry about the detail), went to bed and slept for 5 hours. Feeling slightly better now just need a lot of fluids and hope to be better tomorrow.
Yesterday woke up feeling pretty good. Took the wife out to play golf, her first time trying since July. She loves to play but with the port they put in her chest it’s hurt to much to swing a club. She made it through the round and had no problems, it was good time.
About half way through the game I started regressing, by the time I got home felt like garbage but no ass coffee(as Matty likes to say). Went to bed at 9:30p and didn’t wake up until 8am.
Feeling good today but lesson learned, going to take it easy today and hopefully hit it hard tomorrow.
Gonna hit some KB’s tonight, still a little sour hanging on from this weekend. Don’t want to push myself too much with vacation only a few days away. Did find out the ship has what looks like a nice gym onboard, hopefully I’ll make time for a few sessions.
Can’t wait, we leave in 3 days!!!

Nice little PR in there. Last 2 were ugly but I really wanted that last rep. Decided not to kill myself and do the BBB squats since Thursday I hope to pull.
Over all just solid.
Side note, can’t find my damn camera, pretty sure I’ll find it at the bottom of a toy box somewhere.
