ZMA At Other Times

ZMA is to be taken in the evening before one goes to sleep. What happens if one takes it at other times? What would happen if taken at breakfast or lunch??

Ever hear of narcolepsy? Seriously though, this is one hell of a question.

ZMA doesn’t knock me out, but I sleep better when I take it. I assume the effect would be relatively negligible as its just 2 minerals and a vitamin, but I’d like to hear actual first-hand experience.

ZMA increases your quality of sleep as well as increasing endogenous test levels… This gives you a quality recovery time when you need it the most… ie sleeping…

I’d imagine it would increase free test at other times of course, but I don’t personally think it’s as beneficial.

Just take ZMA at night and quit trying to mess with the program. Use it with a slow releasing protein like Casein (but not at the exact same time as calcium hinders the magnesium absorption from what I read) and you’ll do fine.

When do you all take your protein in comparison to your ZMA? I normally try to take my ZMA 1 to 1.5 hours before I take my protein. Any other thoughts?

I like to take my ZMA about a half hour to forty-five minute before I drink my last shake (which contains casien of course). This seems to work well for me… I can tell because I sleep better and wake up with a firm test pole. Comparatively, when I take it along with my shake I do not notice the effects as much, especially the tent pole thing.
