Consistency is the key. However, I would not think it unusual for most of us to hit a stretch of becoming lethargic, or just lose interest. For me nutrition is the great struggle. I have been told multiple times by my physician to start a keto approach, or the Atkins '72 diet. I am still sitting on the sidelines in regards to that. You will get fired up again.
Thanks. Yeah, I know if I get more consistent with it, it’ll be easier.

1 slice Italian bread

My vision is getting worse, still. I have to zoom in to my Chromebook a significant amount in order for me to read things comfortably. It sucks. I know I should wear my glasses but it makes me feel like I have to become dependent on them in order to live . Its frustrating not being able to read things I know I should be able to read.
I think Im just feeling burnt out, in general. No enthusiasm for schoolwork like I normally do. Once I get my homework done Im not sure what Il do. I might nap.
I can do more if I wait for tomorrow. I did some of my math homework, and I realised if i wait until tomorrow to do the rest, then I will have free time to do what i want today, and I can finish the rest during class. Or after school, if needed then. But Its pretty easy I should be able to get it done in school.
I’ve been having trouble not eating. Like I know I shouldn’t eat when I don’t have enough calories to afford it AND dinner later, but I eat anyway. I need to exercise more discipline in this regard.

I did some exercise today. Not really much but its better than my common habit of doing nothing.
Tomorrow after school I am going to do 30ish minutes of steady state cardio. Maybe treadmill, maybe rowing, but something. I need to get a real session in.
Discipline is an unsustainable approach to nutrition. Willpower is a finite resource. You need to figure out WHY you’re doing this and address THAT.
If you rely on discipline, all you do is set yourself up for a situation where discipline fails, you interpret it as YOU failing, and you develop a trend of failures and a negative feedback loop. This is how damaged relationships with food are developed.
I think part of it is I’m just used to eating a lot, rather than actually being hungry.
But I remember reading somewhere that Im not actually hungry, but I’m thirsty.
And I am thirst, really. I am constantly thirsty for some reason. I need to drink more water.
There you go. Hunger and thirst signals get screwed up. And food DOES contain water, and if you were eating MORE food before, it means you’re taking in less WATER than you were before, so it stands to reason you’d be thirstier.
If you feel that feeling, drink something, wait 20 minutes, and see if you still feel hungry.
Feb 17 2026 W1D2 Conditioning day
Normal schedule today, finally. I am getting tired of all these stupid holidays and days off. We don’t need the friday before presidents days off, nor presidents day itself! So what? George Washington was born not even on that day most of the time. Whoopdy doo! Stupid holiday… Its just a stupid excuse to have a day off we don’t need.
I feel better today. Im ready to get back into the swing of things.
I think it would serve you well to participate in a high school sport for both the physical aspect and hopefully create healthier internet consumption habits . . any sports interest you?
My current GP is more in tune than a previous GP I had. Some years ago I was informed by my doctor to lose weight. So I spent three months on Atkins '72 and lost 60+ pounds. My blood work improved amazingly, and upon a follow up visit he was just tickled. Then he asked, “How did you lose so much weight?” I proudly stated, “The Atkins Diet!” Well he flipped. I could kill myself he uttered. I did point out my weight was down in the 160 lbs. range and I had much better cholesterol and triglyceride numbers. He did not buy it. That is why I was a bit surprised my new GP has been pushing low carb. But, my current GP looks at the research. Sorry ZMFitness for hijacking your log.
Not really. I wouldn’t mind playing a sport in general its just they take up too much time for me. They really fall into a few main categories: I have example with them, but they are not extensive
Not actually a sport in the sense of how soccer and baseball are sports
-Bowling
-Golf
-Rifle
Don’t want to do/ don’t like
Basketball
Football
Wrestling
Volleyball
Soccer
Needs transportation (If I’m gonna do a sport I want to be good at it I’m not going to half-ass it)
Tennis (I thought about doing this but it means someone has to drive me and that’s not really an option a lot of the time)
Sports I can’t do
-Aquatic sports (can’t swim. I would like to learn though)
Sports that may conflict with strength training
-Any running sport
Sports that I’m not going to spend money on something I might not want to do
-Baseball
This leaves:
Softball (isn’t this just baseball with a bigger ball?)
Lacrosse
Field Hockey
Cheerleading (HA yeah no…)
Unified Bocce (I don’t know what the hell this is but it looks so stupid. And I do not have the patience for the slow kids. Im sorry, but I don’t.)
Field Hockey is the only one that I might like because once in gym class last year that was a unit we did, but I don’t know. Its a fall sport, anyway so I’ll have to wait until next school year. I don’t even know if I’d want to do it now or not, It feels like its pretty late in my school years to do that.
I wish they had a weight lifting club, but they don’t. Gymnastics even doesn’t seem that bad, they do some pretty cool stuff, but don’t have that either.
Il finally be able to follow Operator today. I just hope we are able to lift as we want so I can do that.
Todays Workout
Bench
150 x 5 reps for 3-5 sets
Squat
195 x 5 reps for 3-5 sets
Pullups
BW x 5 reps for 3-5 sets
Would it be good to do some light LSS work after my lifting to get a bit of cardio in? One part just to help speed up the fat loss process a little bit, and another because If I have free time I’d like to do something. I want to stay active.
sounds like a lot of excuses my man . . don’t know what you might like until you try it, sports done right gives you much more than just physical competence . . and field hockey is a girls only sport in PA currently
Along with the athletic benefits of sports, they’re also pretty helpful when applying to Universities. Many are looking for well rounded individuals.
I got a letter in wrestling as an awful wrestler, simply by sticking with the team for 3 seasons. It helped for sure.
But also, wrestling is probably the MOST positive physical thing any high school male could ever do for themselves, and if I were to ever hit the reset button of life, I’d start wrestling at about age 4, like the midwest kids around me do, and just do it until I couldn’t. My ears would be SO cauliflowered.
My school begs to differ. This doesn’t even make sense. Unless you mean formal sports? I still don’t understand.
Yeah but the biggest excuse I have is I don’t have the time to do sports. Its not like I don’t do anything, Tuesdays and Thursdays I go to a college program for two hours, and then the other days I need to get homework done. I do have free time, but I just don’t think I have the time to play a sport. Its not even that I don’t want to play a sport. I don’t want a play a sport competitively. I want to play a sport but the only sport “club” they have is Basketball, and I do NOT like basketball.
