ZM Strong like Bull training log (Tactical Barbell training log)

Hey I just wanted to say with all the discourse in the world and your “Im tired of these politics thread” shit like this is dehumanizing. It feeds the us vs them mentality. “Almost everyone is from puetro rico” or “There’s a lot of puertro ricans” are way different than “is a puetro”. That phrasing drives a division

I know @T3hPwnisher has addressed this earlier but this shit is so toxic. A lot of white people are rude, lazy, etc. Being from the south I have had to hear the dumbass rhetoric of “one of the good ones” way too often and I hate it.

You make this sound purely like a race issue when it is a socioeconomic thing

You claim to be a Christian but your own biases seem to make you unable to have the concept of Christian love that is selfless and unconditional. I am not coming for your religious beliefs but I am rather using this as a talking point for self reflection. I was like you when I was younger but holy shit I’m glad I grew out of it. I hope some self reflection and using the right resources can help you come to understand the true message of love the Bible preaches. I cannot go in good faith and read this stuff while seeing your dedication to your religion (which I do admire).

It’s why I’ve landed on misanthropy myself. But I appreciate your contribution. I was the same way: angry at what I perceived to be as different. I do attribute part of that to a non-fully formed pre-frontal cortex. From a bio-evolutionary perspective, it probably makes sense to have that reaction, but it’s nice to take a moment and contemplate the “why” behind it.

Philosophy is helpful there. Just expanding the world view in general.

Hey bruh:

You can be a little hard on yourself, think that is natural. You’re aware of a lot of things most kids your age aren’t. Reflect on any criticism to consider its validity - I do think the Us vs Them mentality is prevalent in our society and is toxic, and it is learned behavior - easy to unlearn if you are mindful.

There are some guided meditations on Spotify that are called Metta or Loving Kindness. They derive from the Buddhist tradition (philosophy in my opinion, not a religion) and they might be helpful.

I don’t categorize myself as any religion but do consider myself spiritual and believe in one Creator and all paths lead to her (lol).

Check out Chase Hughes and practice delusional self forgiveness.

Be good.

You are a crappy misanthrope.

I try to be the example that I wish of others. In a similar vein of “you can’t complain if you didn’t vote”

Yeah… I am having trouble getting out of that mentality. One part of me says “Those darn Spaniards” and the other part says "… "
Hm.
I was trying to justify myself but… You certainly have a point. I need to get out of this mentality. Part of it is its just been pushed on me. But in the end, I accepted it.

Huh. I always thought of myself as one of those people who wouldn’t get pushed into any belief/propoganda. But the whole Spanish people thing is propoganda I fell for.

Just to be clear, I don’t think it’s your fault. Especially we are younger, we are surrounded by echo chambers. I do think it’s your responsibility to work on it. When I was younger, I had my racial hangups, primarily promoted by some adults in my life, but through stuff like wrestling and bjj I got to meet way more people and see that a lot of that shit is just a lie or something pushed out of fear.

Not sure if I should even call this week 1. Im not lifting this week following the program. Today I have strength, I probably will lift though I feel like getting a solid pump is what my body needs. Il do some cardio too. Nothing too intense.

Side note: I remember when I was like 12 and wanted to get started with lifting (I had a set of 4lb neoprene dumbbells. You know I was serious lol), I thought a pump meant you used like drugs to make your muscle bigger.

This makes me think of something I heard/read once. The mind often opposes that which it does not understand.

Breakfast is now.

Yesterdays total was within range.

Feb 13 2026

Yesterday we did a “bar workout” during strength. I think it was like 10-15 minutes where we couldnt let go of the bar, we just had to do the exercises as instructed. That was brutal. I don’t like that, and I don’t want to ever do it again. We will though, sometime. I thought it would be easy because “its just the bar”. I almost go through, but at the end when we did curls/diamond pushups (this part we could put the bar down for the pushups), I did one pushup and I was finished. Not really lack of strength, though probably a part of it, but mostly I was just completely gassed.

Traps are super sore, biceps are sore also.

Breakfast:
2 eggs
2 oz beef
1 cup of minute jasmine rice
2/3 cup protein granola
1 cup milk
----Total: 868 Kcal, 31g fat, 95g carbs, 51g protein

Next week Il hopefully be starting Operator+Black. Finally.

{I deleted this part} NO. I WILL NOT BE DECEIVED ONCE MORE

Anyways, I must get on with doing homework.

I watched “Knowing” for the first time. I knew what it was about because a while ago i watched a movie recap of it but. Ohhh my lord… I feel like im about to have a mental breakdown…

Feb 14 2026

Feel better this morning. Sleep is good medicine.

Not much else to say.

Feb 15 2026

Man Ive been lazy with logging. And with properly following my diet.

I’ve been roughly eating in calories but protein has not been very high… I need to prioritize protein still. And I need to eat REAL carbs. JUNK FOOD ISNT A SUITABLE CARB SOURCE. NEEDING CARBS IS NOT AN EXCUSE TO EAT CRAP.

Speaking of crap, yesterday I did some baking, and they were supposed to be heart shaped chocolate hand pies. Well, they are basically really pitiful crappy poptarts, so… yeah. And theres like 300 calories per unit? Terrible unhealthy.

I need to get back to following my cut seriously. And I need to get my workouts situated for this week. Im finally starting lifting again. Its been like a month! Good thing any progress lost, which I assume is minimal, will come back quickly.

Well, today’s measurements:

Waist: 34 inches
Chest size: Not tracking anymore too difficult to get a good number
Bicep: 14.25 inches
Quad: 24.5 inches
Will weigh-in before Breakfast.

I deleted my YouTube channel. I don’t want that to be successful, when its just centered around my physique, and given this world, and experience from last time, a good amount is just people getting off to me(the comments made it seem that way)… so uh… yeah. No thanks

I’ve been wasting too much time doing things I ought to replace with better things. Im on season 5 of Downton Abbey now, which isn’t great. But it means I’m getting close to being done so that’s good. Only 2 more seasons…

I should go to church today. I have no excuse and will not make one up.

Time for Breakfast

If this is hamstringing you, perhaps a good reframe is understanding that you never need carbs. They are not an essential nutrient. They are helpful, but not necessary.

How much of this applies to you, given from what I’ve gathered you don’t really eat carbs frequently. You seem to be at least nearly deceased according to this.

(Just a note; I don’t plan on doing this as I like carbs and I find they are good. God made them for us to eat, so I will eat them. Just like with all the animals. If we didn’t eat the cows, there would be too many. Gotta keep the animal population under control)

So you mean, only in season fruits, honey, dairy and very limited veggies/tubers?

The post you linked is a pretty good example of bunk science and sensationalism. Linking ketosis to ketoacidosis is just lazy “journalism”. But reading this is a good example of how important it is to pay attention to words. “Words mean things”.

Here’s a great example

“Cutting carbs entirely can raise the risk of cholesterol, kidney stones, poor bone health, gut problems, and even cancer, added Stefanki.”

“Can” also means “can not”. Those are the two sides of the coin. You have the freedom to say anything CAN, because there are unlimited possibilities in the world. I can (there I go) say something like “Picking a dime up off the street can cause a purple unicorn to run through Central Park at midnight”, and no one can refute that. Simply because it has never happened doesn’t mean it’s impossible for it to ever happen: it’s just that, most likely, it WON’T happen.

And then “increase the risk” is another fascinating “non-phrase” in journalism. My favorite example of this is the lottery. The odds of winning the lottery with one ticket are 1 in 300 million. If you buy a second ticket, you “increase your risk” of winning the lottery by 100%. To the layman, that sounds like you have a 100% chance of winning the lottery. No, you “doubled your risk” of something that you had low odds of ever ACTUALLY encountering in the first place. And that is on something that we increased the risk on by 100%, now making it just 1 in 150 million. If we only increase our risk by 8%, it’s infinitesimal.

Ketogenic diets are probably the most widely researched diets in the world. Their efficacy has been proven on many occasions. They are a life-saving intervention for people suffering from epilepsy. I don’t say all this to say they’re SUPERIOR to alternative diets: simply to say they’re another option.

And grains. I think that ideally everything I eat should be in season, local, pesticide free, organic non GMO. But… well I don’t think the Amish are growing anything/would be willing to sell anything? Or something? Anyways, its a low, significant, but low chance of actually getting that stuff atleast in the Winter.

I definitely haven’t followed my diet well. About 15 minutes ago I ate most of my patch of crappyfake poptart hearts with chocolate sauce. Eugh. I don’t know why I even ate them they are so crappy. I threw away the last few so I wont deal with it. I just have to hold up my crux (Is this even an expression? As in, to hold my guard firm against —) against the other junk in our house.

That’s interesting to think about, yeah

Ive heard plenty about how theyve worked for others, and I don’t doubt they would work for myself. I just am too young for it, in my eyes.

That reminds me. My weight In this morning was 174.5 lbs.

Uh… I need to get my activity up. Im just glad I’m not on my bulking diet oh dear would I have put on some serious poundage. I would expect I’d be up to atleast 175-180 given Ive done absolutely nothing and there’s been plenty of excess junk.

I’ve gotten into a bit of a rut. Not working outthat much for a month has significantly slowed down my momentum. Its gonna take a lot of effort to get back going, especially with conditioning.

I know its foolish to want this, but I wish this didn’t take any effort. But I know nothing good was accomplished without trying.

I ate a bunch of crap today. I won’t bother tracking it because I know its too much. I had 3 packs of poptarts worth of that crap I made, a bunch of party mix, a slice of cherry pie, on top of my regular food.

An interesting place to say they were provided for us to eat, given how much refinement it takes for it. They certainly weren’t for eating in the Garden of Eden, haha. But I suppose there’s something to say about the Eucharist being bread…and wine for that matter.

They absolutely will. I buy Amish butter as much as I can, and at my last work location we’d buy lots of Amish groceries. They’re an awesome community. Can learn a lot from them.

Which is natural. The winter is when things are dead. Little in the ways of produce. Dan John has talked about how the fasting during Lent is a period to let the animals have an opportunity to reproduce so we’ll have something to eat in the fall and winter.

Definitely not an age thing. Ketogenic diets are employed with infants as young as 3 weeks old. In fact, infants tend to exist in a mild state of ketosis.

And again, I don’t do all this to sell you on KETO: just to help you with the reframe about “needing” carbs. If that is tricking you into eating junkfood, take solace in knowing you don’t need any carbs. Especially in a fat loss phase, if the choice is crappy carbs or no carbs: no carbs wins. It’s also worth appreciating that hunger is not a crisis event. If the only thing around is crappy carbs, you can wait until good carbs are available.

Bread has been a staple of human food-source for millenia, so, that’s that I suppose.

I have dreamt about living Amish. I even had this idea of asking to live/work with them in exchange for learning their ways. I think some of them might be open to it, but im not sure exactly how realistic a plan it would be. I know the work would be tough, and I know my main resource was the movie For richer or Poor starring Tim Allen and whatshername, but I think I would be able to manage it somehow. Not too far from me either, so if anything were to happen I could get my parents to pick me up. Thinking about this… I think I really want to do this over the summer but I don’t think my parents would let me.

Im not going to comment on this because I don’t know enough to say if that is blasphemous or not.

Il think about this. I suppose it is better listening to you than Mr Art. F. Hallucinatio (chatgpt)

Humanity has existed far beyond millenia  In the timeline of humanity existing, bread is very recent. It took some figuring for us to learn how to get the grains in a state we could actually eat them and have them not destroy our guts, primarily because we lack the ability of ruminant animals.

Dr. Bill Schindler goes into great detail in the book “Eat Like a Human” in the process of grains entering our diet as a species, and has some awesome recipes for how to raise your own sourdough. You might appreciate that.

I should be getting to the gym today if I want to keep up with my schedule. But its very slushy and wet outside, so my brother probably wont want to take me. I might take this week as a brief week. Only 2/3 of the lifting workouts. Il do some light conditioning today, and tomorrow Il do a proper workout. Wednesday I can lift.
