French is my first language and what I find fun is the fact I understand a lot of Spanish and Italian without even trying. All those languages derived mainly from Latin.

I find English funny on a lot of things. The animal is a cow but you eat beef. In French, the animal can be ā€œun boeufā€ and when you eat it you eat ā€œdu boeufā€ which makes sense because it’s the same thing. Same for pig and pork. In French it’s simply ā€œporcā€. So in English, the animal has an English name but when it’s in your plate the name is derived from French!

Todays eating sucks. I have to force a can of tuna since I have only 121g protein and 106 Kcal left. Ugh.

Field trip tomorrow, that means my lifting session needs to be moved to after school. Oh well. Hm. Il have to walk. Oh well. My backpack will be very light though since I’m missing health and my math class. Il be pack in time for some of my physics class though.

I got to look at some moss under the microscope. I saw the cells and I got to see the chloroplasts. Very neat. I think if it were a bit more powerful I could have seen all the organelles like the nucleus and the golgi apparatus and whatnot. Wow. I remember all this stuff from Honors Bio last year. Awesome. My brain is working. We also learned how to make Agar plates, and it was also a day where we got pictures taken of us, so cool. I got some taken of me while using the microscope, and also some plain face pictures (Those looked okay, obviously not used to seeing myself in photos recently.

Okay, so when you use the mirror, its flipped. But, is it accurate in how people see you? Like, if you see yourself in the mirror, do people see you in the same way you see yourself? Or is it completely different? I KNOW ITS FLIPPED. But do they perceive you the same way? Is there any real way to answer this question? I can think of study that could be done but it would be a little complicated. Something I could do eventually.

I cant get in the tuna its too late for solids. Il just have 2 cups of milk… 9 18 g protein no something don’t know almost 20 that’s 300 Kcal a little much thast 141 eh maintainence

Todays the field trip. Im actually a little glad I miss math because i need to finish homework. My teach is actually one of the people organizing to trip too so I wont really miss any classtime.

So My friend whom i’ve spoke about, she said her husband worked at such and such university for mechanical engineering type stuff. Well I was looking at the people at the event and the one person leading a class has the same last name and the first name sounded familiar.
Well, I emailed her and asked if that was her husband. IT IS! I hope I get a chance to say hi.

Lol. The reason I get the juice box is just because its free liquid. I normally don’t bring my water bottle to lunch so I end up grabbing one. I honestly never even thought about that, Il start bringing water.

I guess I could have not eating the ice cream but oh well. I am going to eat some meat for protein now. I have 1636 Kcal and 115g protein left to reach 160g. Id better eat some protein.

My university field trip was pretty cool. Did some chemistry stuff (nothing fun of course, it was a field trip). I got to learn a bit about biochemistry stuff which was probably my favorite part (And in that reason I assume it was very boring for everyone else). I answered a good deal of stuff bc it seems a lot of people are practically mutes. They did talk but only after extended silence. I shortened the silence a few times. It was nice. Im getting better at speaking I think. I feel myself stumbling a little less often/ a little less intensely. Still need to work on it.

I’ve been thinking, and one possibility for a chemistry job focus would be pigment chemistry, specifically extracting/deriving pigments from organic, sustainable sources (plants and animal products (shells and the like). I think I would enjoy it, but this could also just be a phase I’m in. Time will tell.

I remembered I had a cheese stick with my breakfast, so Im including that here. I did have another now though.

I’ve been thinking, and Im not sure how I can keep my cardio workout consistent. I have no issue with the lifting workouts because that’s scheduled in as a class I’m taking, but cardio I don’t have tons of time for. Between eating and homework I don’t have much free time. Tuesdays and Thursdays are immediately crossed out. Monday Wednesday and Friday (and Saturday too I suppose) are the only days, And I need my time for homework. Lunch isn’t nearly enough time. Though I suppose I can do it doing lunch still and save time with at home homework.
I would like to keep doing cardio, but with how my schedule is Im not sure if I’m going to be able to really do it atleast as much. Its not a high priority for me. Thoughts?

Many of the HIC workouts take like 15 minutes. Get a skipping rope for something that doesn’t take up much space and is low cost. You may be able to get the workouts done before school.

That’s a good idea. I might have to wake up a little earlier but oh well. Since day sleeps by the back door il just have to go around the front way and go back down to the yard to do it. No problem. get up at 5, 45 minutes for my prayer and whatnot, then 15 minutes for my workout. Seems good. 6:00 breakfast as always, and I should be able to be in clean enough shape for school. Asked parents, they said I could.

October 18th 2025 W8D6
Today Im supposed to get in my cardio workout. I plan on going on a hike so thats something. I probably will do some stuff today. maybe hacking at that dead tree. Its been there a long time, it was a roughly 120ft tall sycamore tree, then a long time ago it broke so theres only about 20ft left of it. Its very interesting, theres some plants (not sycamore) growing at the top of it, and there is moss growing on it. It will be around for quite awhile, since sycamores are very water resistant.

There is so much opportunity to perform research. Where the moss is, the wood has become like dirt, I want to collect and dry some of it. I could extract compounds from it, perhaps dyes. I need to clean my glassware though. Argh. I will clean my area and then collect some.

Im going to collect various resources today for study. Mosses are the key subject, since I need them to study for my science project. I will try to gather some wildflowers (if any, since its the middle of october) to see if I can eventually extract dye or something, and anything else of interest. Much to do today.

Did a workout.
I chopped at the tree for maybe 5-10 minutes tops, then I did some pullups and pushups, and a few pistol squats for fun.
I did about 30 pullups total, about 30 pushups, 10 decline pushups, and like 4-5 pistols squats each leg. So decent workout, got a good sweat going and a good pump.

It finally clicked in my mind I think. Having a little extra fat is good for building muscle, because it gives the body a god reserve of energy so it wont use the muscles. Having less fat is good for showing off the muscle, but not great for building it.

My goal is to not gain any fat. I need to act towards this goal. Its difficult because most of the meat we have is fish, and although I do enjoy seafood now and then, I don’t like having tons of it. I really want beef and chicken (Mostly beef actually). I need to convince mom to buy some for me. They don’t like that I want to eat so much meat. That irritates me sometimes. I need the meat so I can grow more strength and size faster. I should have a MINIMUM of 160g protein a day.
Better yet I could buy it, they just have to drive me. A bunch of food that is actually healthy, and not just deceptive.

Looking at this, I know I consume too much fat. Macadamia nuts are SUPER high in fat (18g:3g:2g fat:carbs:protein ratio), and the processed sandwich ready to eat foods are high also. The butter and sour cream doesn’t help. Cheese is also a bit high.

New goal: For the foods I eat, they have to have less fat than protein. Fat is the biggest calorie hog, its over twice the caloric density per gram than carbs or protein. I need to have an absolute max of 100g fat a day, so Il aim for a max of 80 for a safeguard.

Tracking my calories and macros is such a helpful tool.

I better get ready for bed. My new sleep schedule is roughly 8pm to 5am.

October 19th W8D7 Rest day
Im going to use this day as a planning day for the next week, and to catch up on assignments. I have one thats almost done and is due tomorrow, and another that is due by the end of the month I should really start working on.

Im also going to start typing up my notes on my typewriter. This way, I can have notes that are easy to read, are formatted nicely, and take up less space. It also acts as an opportunity to review, since the information is passing through my head again.
I can schedule this in my time blocks as time before dinner, after I finish my eating and homework.

A new thing Im going to do is after school, my objective is to simply eat. Im not going to watch any videos, or do stuff while im eating, because that turns a meal into about an hour or two of grazing unproductively.

Getting up at 5:00 is good. I felt more awake when I woke up, though I attribute this to ā€œfirst time easeā€, its always easier to do something once, but it is not easy to continue it as a habit. I found out my prayer stuff is actually only 30 minutes, so Il have 30 minutes to get my workout in and then log on here.

Another note; I enjoy typing on here and getting my thoughts onto the page, it makes it easier to think. It’s also good practice for typing and grammar correction. If anybody sees any grammar mistakes (even the slightest errors), please do correct me.

I finished the one assignment, Now I just need to start the other. Although, we will be getting class time for it tomorrow, since our teacher isn’t going to be there. So I think I will do it then.

Plans for this week:
My cardio workout days are Monday Wednesday and Friday this week. I have about 20 minutes to workout. Anything I can do other than jump rope? The two I have aren’t great, they are a little small for me I think (though I will re-check). I don’t want to JUST do jump rope as my workout obviously. I could do bodyweight stuff. I want to focus on pullups and be able to do a bunch of them in a row. I can do about 40 or so pushups in a row, but I do want to increase it.
An advantage of working out in the morning is its going to be cold, so that’s training by itself, and also that means I wont be as sweaty. So thats good.

Time to do something. Going to check on my chemistry project I’m doing. Im extracting the dye from plants (I’m currently doing Cockscomb flowers from our garden)
