Workout today was crap
Couldnt do pushups, dips, or inverted rows because shoulders still hurting from doing that calisthenics stuff 3 days ago. I did the rest of the stuff.
I did try the pushups, and I probably could manage to squeeze them out, same as the rows, but, i dont want to end up hurting myself. Il play it safe, i want to get back to lifting, not have to wait and recover for a long time. Its better in the long run.

Good lesson in maintaining that balancing act between training vs testing. Sounds like you pushed too hard on the calisthenics.

Lunch: Candy was something I earned from mowing for an hour. Food was for nutrients. Soda, I don’t know why I even drank it. Only thing going for it was it was cold. Didn’t taste good, and didn’t even get a good burp out of it.

1 tbsp butter
2 sweet peppers
3 yellow bean pods

Gonna head up to the library to see if they have a printer I can use (I assume there is, and it will probably cost money so Il bring my wallet). After that, I’m taking a nap. Body needs rest.

I’d really try to break this mentality at this age, if at all possible. If you want to eat candy, that’s absolutely fine, but ā€œearning a treatā€ can really set you up for a pretty disastrous relationship with food.

Really appreciate the detail and how candid you are being with this log. This is a great resource.

Well, library was a waste of time. The price of 15c` per page isnt bad, but, with the 400 something pages i needed to print out thats like 65 bucks. And i would only be able to print out 30 pages at a time to prevent the printer from overheating, apparently. Guess Im waitng for the school year to use the library printer, or else we will have to go to some office supply store.

I wasted some time not doing anything, I saw a friend outside but he left right away, and I didn’t want to just head back inside (stupid ego). So I was out there wasting time doing jack squat with my bike, putting a rope on the tire making it spin fast. What a waste of time

1.5 potatos worth of sliced canned potatos
2 eggs
4 breakfast sausages
1 slice white american cheese (not that fake cheese, real cheese)
4 tbsp ketchup
1 cup orange juice
----Total: 870 Kcal, 34g fat, 105g carbs, 37g protein

Days total: 2900 Kcal, 154g fat, 250g carbs, 139g protein
400 Kcal left, and about 20g protein. Looks like Il have a can of tuna for the protein, and then whatever for the 300 calories left.

July 25, W4D5 Rest Day

Tomorrow is the last workout of the week. After that, just one more week until I can lift again.
Will be taking advantage of today definitely. Shoulders feel pretty good, one more day they’ll be normal Id say.

I’m not going to go near the woods until my legs and arms are all healed up. They’ve gotten pretty bad, lots of bug bites and little scab things. Skin needs to heal. My neck looks like it got some poison on it, so, there’s that too.
Gotta remember to keep clean and not skip any showers. Its stupid that I’m like that.
Posture needs to be fixed. I’ve let it get worse after getting good posture for awhile.

Will work on the blanket and finish putting away stuff from my desk. Its much nicer now.

Im trying out a new food eating technique; No grains. I can have carbs from fruits, vegetables, and non-grain seeds (sunflower seeds), but nothing that’s wheat, rye, etc, even if its whole. My theory is that these carbs, being from fruit/veg. are more nutritious, and have better quality energy than grain carbs. Will I lose fat? We will see. I will follow this for a month, if I am able.

Vinnie Tortorich has a nutritional approach labeled NSNG for ā€œNo Sugar/No Grainsā€ that aligns with what you’re saying here, and what you’re describing is also similar to a Paleo Diet approach, with Brad Kearns and Mark Sisson laying out the Primal Blueprint to include ā€œmeats, seafood, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seedsā€. Definitely solid guiding principles. Sticking with single ingredient foods in general go a long way.

Starting with the next meal I eat, I will be doing no grain/ no sugar diet for a bit.

Its amazing. I think the whole way that nutrition is taught/spread in the media is messed up.
There are all of these ā€œsuperfoodsā€. Sure, they exist, some foods do stand out above others, but the thing i always think is; ā€œWOAH! EATING REAL FOOD IS GOOD FOR YOU? WHO COULD HAVE COME TO THAT ODD CONCLUSION??ā€. In my opinion, theres no such thing as a ā€œsuperfoodā€, really. Its just real food, and real food is healthy and good for you, because that is how it was designed by God.

I don’t understand why they allow some foods to be shipped out. Its not even real food, there’s no nutrients. Some say ā€œWell if its in moderation its okayā€. Ok, here’s a drink. There’s cyanide, lead, and arsenic in it. What, you don’t want it? Oh don’t worry its safe, its just a small amount. You want to know how much is bad for you? I told you, its fine its a small amount"
I don’t like the whole unhealthy food in moderation is good for you. To a certain extent this could be true, but most people go far beyond the line where this is applicable and they unknowingly deteriorate their health
I don’t know where the line is, but its there somewhere, between a group that contains dark chocolate andwhole grain bread, and a group that contains the downright toxic stuff with red 40, yellow 5, other dyes, and stuff like McDonald’s. Its far between them, and Im not sure just how far.

I want to eliminate plastic exposure as much as possible. I don’t want to be getting microplastics; they are supposed to increase estrogen/lower testosterone I’ve heard. Even if this isn’t true (I think it is), I want to avoid plastic.
Why is everything made of plastic these days…
What should I do?
