xeleventy-nine. 1RM calculator gives you a 552.5 max off that. Solid abdominables will put 50 on that since your back is already strong.
great work. Looks like you had a good DL day, mine was very frustrating. It’s like I don’t even know how to pull anymore. I will correct that though.
This looked easy on paper but sets of 10 rep deads wiped me out.
This is an understatement. One by one, I managed to drop all my assistance exercises on dead day except the 5x10 deads. The 5x10 sounds easy but it is just too taxing after the 5-3-1 money set.
Thanks you all for the kind comments. Deads are feeling very comfortable. Several things I’ve finally started to do that seem to help:
- bar touchs my legs the entire pull
- medium stance sumo
- sit back as much as possible at beginning of pull
- feel like I’m pushing the floor away
- deadlift no more then once every 1 1/2 weeks
jebus, those deads rock!
nicely done! and still learning, that’s pretty good too. i can’t do 425 once. bitch
Thanks Joe. Deads are becoming my favorite exercise.
MJ, it still surprises me that lifting can be so technical. I’ll never get the three big lifts 100% perfect.

It can get hard to balance technique with an aggressive, “SFW” attitude. But that is what it takes…
Steve, nice work!
great puling.
11/9
CGB 215x5,250x5,285x5
CGB 205 10x5 sets
BB row 225x10,245x10,265x10,245x10,225x10
ab roll outs 225 5x5
Left shoulder was really aching with 250 and 285. I may have to do low weight, high rep CGB for a bit. Focus on my deads and military press.

This looked easy on paper…
And I thought I was the master of the understatement. I don’t do 10 of anything deadlifting. Great lifting.

Harry, you have to try it some time. Follow your regular deadlifting workout with 5 sets of 10 reps with 50% of your max. It builds character.

And I thought you were Harry’s friend. Friends don’t tell friends to do x10 DLs!
steve, are you hitting the lytp every training session? i do it as part of my warmup, even on skwat and dead days. keeps my shoulders healthy and feeling loved
You’re right Skip. I’m sorry Harry.
MJ, I try to do the YTWL stuff every workout. But thanks for the good advice. I always like advice even if it backs up what I’m already doing.
11/12
squat 325x5,375x5,425x12
That’s it. Short on time. The ‘I aint doing shit’ workout.

didja pass out after that money set? Friggin’ amazin’!
425x12? Good grief! To this littlestrick, that is awe inspiring…seriously. Heck, I wish I could do it once!
