Me too, I so love food. That 16oz strip steak, chicken breast and rolls sound sooo gooood. Meat just got me all excited.

Agreed with the 10lbs being too heavy for cuff exercises. I do, and recommend, starting with 2 or 3 pounds for form and burn. Rarely have I seen anyone get to 5lbs or more and do them right. Just as important as cuff work is strengthening the mid and lower traps, rhomboids and serratus.

The rehab analogy for shoulders is that your rotator cuff is your cannon and the muscles around your shoulder blade are the boat it fires from. It is always better to fire your cannon from a battleship versus firing it from a canoe.

I wonder why we’re all well over 200 lbs.

10/30
shoulder re-hab stuff

  1. CGB barx25,135x15,185x10,225x3,275x3,315x3,225x10,10
  2. fat bar row 135x10,225x10,275x4,225x10,10,10,10,10
  3. dips BWx15,15,15
  4. fat bar chins 3,3,3,
  5. side bends 100x 5,5,5 (each side)
  6. push ups 2 sets
  7. reverse row rope pullups 2 sets

My left shoulder was still aching but tolerable. The fat bar really works the brachialis muscles. Mine already ache. My lats got very little work today it was all forearms. I dropped down to 5 lbs for the shoulder rehab exercises. Squats tomorrow.

Eco… lookin’ good bro.

I like food so much… had my den changed to a vomitorium, like back in the days of Caesar…

Thanks Bunny. If we all walked into an ‘all you can eat’ buffet they’d lose money. I didn’t feel so well over the weekend so no squating until today.

cleans 135x5,155x3,175x3,195x3,225x1,245x3/4,185x5
squats 135x5,225x5,315x3,405x3,495x1,1,1
sldl 135x5,225x5,315x5,405x3,455x1

That’s all I had time for. I was so close to cleaning 245. I can get the weight chest high easily then it gets real ugly. It’s time to start squating heavy again. Next session 3 sets x 2 reps with 495.

Good session. Wish I’d held off on squats Saturday. I still cringe remembering the bacon/NOXplode/squat combo.

Nice work, nice sqauts.

I have to work hard to get under the bar for power cleans.

as for eating- there is a good article on elite fts about it.
I need to work on eating more, its something I need work on.

as for meat , being a foodie and a powerlifter, it seems to go hand in hand

whoa baby! nice easy session there bro!

Do you get any “jump” out of the cleans?

Nice work Steve. Squats look strong and the cleans as well. Oh hell, the whole d@mned workout looks strong.
Great job.

Thanks guys.

Pete, I felt wiped all weekend so I held off with working out. I didn’t want to taste any meals twice like you did.

Kevin, I’m trying to eat wisely. A lot of fruits and around 1 gram protein per lb bodyweight.

George, my heals come off the floor but no real jump. But I’m working on it.

Big Stick, its time to get the squat numbers back to where they were. Gonna lift heavy for a bit.

Steve, keep it up! You’re definitely one of the folks who help keep me motivated. I watch your numbers and think…yep, I wanna do that, oneday.

One day real soon and then pass me. You’ve got tons of potential (especially with the deadlift).

Very nice training brother. How long that session take ya? You rip through it?

Took me about 40 minutes. I wanted to do some higher rep lunges but ran out of time. I had to get the meatball subs ready before the wife and kids got home from hockey practice. I put the cheese on top and broiled them for a bit to melt the cheese and toast the roll. I ate like 10 meatballs with sauce but no bread.

You are a very cruel individual. I don’t even want to admit what that paragraph just did to me. Off to a meeting and I haven’t had anything but protein shakes since breakfast:(

Should have let me know. I would have overnighted you a couple of my very tastey meatball subs. I had enough left over.

By the time I get to where you are now (which will be a very good day, by the way), you will have moved on. That’s okay, though. It keeps me moving forward.

Steve in JW’s thread you mentioned Front squats roll of your shoulders,
I think its harder for bigger guys to hold the clean rack.
you could try straps.

meatball subs, cutting into the work out.
Nice.

if he uses the straps, he’ll have to use the pigtails too:)

Thanks Kevin. I’m slowly finding my groove with front squats. As long as I keep it under five reps I usually have no problem now. Higher reps are a little more difficult and require re-adjusting the weight between reps.

MM, could I just have pigtails without the straps?
