Zerchers are the Shiznit

9/6
deadlift 405x5,495x5,405x5
front squat 225x10,10,10
GM with top squat attachment 135x10,10,10

I was surprised and happy my deadlift was so good. I haven’t deadlifted for a long time and have had less then 15-20 grams of carbs a day for a week. My bench may be tanking with weight loss but the deadlift is holding for now.

Sweet DLs, eco. Good stuff going on. I, too, have to shed some pounds. I think i was 2# heavier than you when you posted your weight. I’m trying to get the meds done before i change too much, though.

15-20 grams of carbs a day? Are you doing the Atkins? Anabolic? Or something else?

for a lot of guys when dropping weight the bench will drop, but then level out. Sounds like you have a sound plan to get yourself in order. I had to do the same thing a few years back, that is what initiated my usual morning low level cardio. I am here for support, bro. Just focus on keeping the weights up where/when you can.

Thanks for the support guys. I’m following the atkins plan. It sheds the pounds fast if you can stick to it. I got down to 217 lbs several years ago on it. I don’t want to drop below 240 this time though. When I get to 240 I’ll start to mix my protein powder with milk again then add fruit back in. I’d like to stay away from sugar/bread as much as i can long term.

high fructose corn syrup is the main enemy…look at labels. if it has it, don’t buy it.

True. I really try to avoid it as much as possible.

495x5 is great feat. Love it!

Great Deads. Good luck on the weight loss. If it taste good, don’t eat it.

Hel, I think you hit it right on the head.

MM and Dan, you’re right about reading labels. Bad shit is hiding everywhere.

I have some downtime today at work so I’m going to try and catchup with everyone. Just so many good threads now its tough to read them all.

Great DLing, particularly with the weight loss going on.

Thank you Joe. I was very surprised about the deadlift numbers.

I think my diet was primarily hfcs the lst two days. That and sodium. Combine the two and it can jack up the bloat real fast. I will turn that around quickly though.

Eco, I am very impressed with your dedication to the diet. Hope to see you turn those numbers around by your next appt.

Thanks Pete. I’d like to live to a ripe old (pain in the ass) age. Even dropping a few pounds has made me feel less bloated. I breath better (deeper) during GPP.

9/8
A1.bench 245x5,260x5,280x5,300x8
A2.BB row 245x5,260x5,280x5,300x8
B1.floor press 225x10,275x4,225x14
B2. face pull 3 setsx15 reps
C1. db tri roll outs 40x10,10,10
C2. db bi curls 40x7,6,6

Kept a couple reps in the tank with bench and BB rows. Overall good weeknight workout. I really like the non-rushed weekend workouts best.

good work outs eco. I would advise to carb up 1 day a week though. If you don’t your metabolism will start to tank and you can get weaker/irritable/get hurt.

with how much lbm you have i would also suggest to do fasted morning walks on treadmill or outside to help with the fat loss. Hit cardio is good and all but is better used in conjunction with a carb-cycling approach.
Just stick with steady state cardio for 6 weeks then add in the hit 1 a week for 4 weeks then 2 a week after that. (5-6 times total cardio a week)

Are you eating vegetables? If not do so.
Are you eating/drinking dairy? If possible when eating/drinking dairy try for organic products. (they add carbs/salt/preservatives to dairy to make taste better and eat/drink more)

so your goal is 240. That is 36 lbs how long did you set your weight loss plan for ? i would shoot for 18 weeks.

good luck.

I hope this helps and not confuses

Just wondering if any of you guys are experiencing information overload. Every day I come across new ideas that I want to incorporate into my training. It’s been driving me nuts. Has me all over the board with my workouts. Just so much good stuff out there that it makes it difficult.[/quote]

I agree Eco, sometimes you get these ideas in your head, and ya wanna try this and that and end up getting to the gym not knowing what the hell you’re going to do. As always, I really like the work you’re doing.

Fisher, I’m off dairy and eating the vegies. On the carb day should I eat fruit? How should I eat that day?

DZ, to much information can be worse then having just a little. But lifting hard even on a poorly planned workout can give great results.

On carb day: 1.5 to 1.75 x bweight in grams of carbs. So for youi about 400-450 grams carbs and almost equal amount of protein. No fats.

  1. Eat good carbs fruits, potatoes, rice, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat or buckwheat bread.- stay away from refined sugars and refined starches.

do not worry if you go up 3-4 pds on the day after that is normal then about 3 days after that your weight will be lower than the day before the carb day.

ps. space meals throughout the day. works great cuz you can look forward to the carb up day throughout the week.

Answer your question

300x8 bench press, and kept a couple in the tank. Man! Now that’s a strong bench press, and to follow it with a 300x8 bent row.

Eh - he’s always doing that. He was born strong. In fact, he broke the birthing doctors fingers after the guy spanked him awake.

Nice job Eco.
