Zerchers are the Shiznit

Eco’s been a beast for a while now, strong as hell brother!
I guess I’m one of the lucky one’s in that my wife doesn’t bother much with what I order online.

Nice effort Eco. That’s a hella lotta volume on the rack pulls.

Thanks DZ and Pete.

I ordered a captain of crush 100 lb gripper today. Something to use while watching TV. After this cycle I’m not sure what I’d like to do. Some hypertrophy training is sounding good right now. I haven’t gone above 5 reps for an entire workout for years. Maybe do direct biceps and calf work, crazy shit like that.
Hitting the big 40 one week from today. Next meet I will be able to check mark the masters box.

Maybe you can check ‘Master’ on the meet form, but you’re too strong to do other than enter the open classification and spread fear among the 25-year-olds.

Like to hear how you like the gripper. And power training and hypertrophy don’t have to be mutually exclusive…

Freakin’ beast, man. Keep it up.

Skid, thanks for the kind words. But it’ll be easier to get a trophy in the masters.
Pete, you’re right about being able to mix the two. I just have to come up with a program that does it.
Steely, I look like a beast in the winter when I don’t buzz the back. Kinda like a black bear.

8/17
bench 315x11
3 board press 315x8,4,4,3
pause bench 225x6
tri ext 3 sets

No gas today. Looking forward to an easy week.

What?? You’re not a silverback?

Great benching eco. Pumping out 11 reps is great for any day…but especially when the energy isn’t there.

Be good to hear some feedback on the crusher. Thought about ordering one from time to time. As for turning 40, watch out for those master’s. Some don’t realize they’re suppose to be old, yet.

LS, more of a silver beard. A lot of greys in the beard. My dad was completely white by 50.

Hel, there haven’t been any age defying guys like you at either of the two meets I’ve attended. They must all live down south. The hand gripper should arrive Thursday (but you know that damn postal service). I’ll let you know how the 100lber feels.

Heck, my dad was completely gray by 35. My beard is already full of the white stuff. And what does grow on the top of my head is mostly that way too.

I decided to take the rest of the week off. Just feeling like I need a break. Going to give the bodybuilding workouts a try for a bit starting saturday or monday. Nothing fancy just upping the reps and adding calf and biceps. I may hate it and jump right back into powerlifting.

most of the time it’s not the training that is the problem… it’s nutrition and recovery/ sleep that need to be addressed.

You’re right. I’ve had a lot of trouble sleeping and staying asleep over the past several nights. Can’t get work issues out of my head lately. Time to get the melatonin out.

Nice training Eco. Nothing wrong with the Masters. The two meets I have been at, there was not a lelluva big difference in the numbers.

Sounds like a little rest should have you right back at it.

The bourbon might help the rest. Then again it might not.

I love the dreams I have when my nightcap is a pint of Rye…

The real big battle at the New England Raw is in the Master’s div.

Enjoy the time off big Eco. Will be looking forward to you picking it up again.

The two meets I’ve been to were mostly under 40 guys. Guess they weren’t the norm. I took some melatonin last night and slept like a baby. What a difference a good nights sleep makes. Just puts me in positive mood.
