What gear will you be wearing? Do i remember you saying it was no bench shirt, but squat/DL suits and wraps were ok?

yup, suit and wraps. Suit will be tight as hell on me this year due to weight gain, so I think the learning of the suit might take longer this time along.

No belt, I had no idea where it was until i left. Some asshat who sat on a shoulder press machine for the entire time I was there had it on. given it’s the only one that fits me, this asshat had ti on the near widest setting when there were like a half dozen belts that would fit his large gut. NOT TO MENTION HE DIDN’T TOUCH A FUCKING FREEWEIGHT THE ENTIRE TIME.

Anyways:
boxsquat:
185x5
225x5
275x4
295x3
315x2 (missed third rep)

Calves
140x15
190x10
190x10

my gym was so fucking packed with asshats today i couldn’t get to the GHR because overweight housewives where upside down on them doing abs holding pink dumbells. I tried doing snatches but I was way to exhausted to get to form right.

Dumbshit blond kid with his bangs turned up, tiny ass calves sporting a sleeveless, not taking weights off anything, and spending 30 minutes curling.

Haha, reminds me of the gym I used to go to. WAY too many bums so I just dropped the cash and got a nice set up at home.

Anyways, I haven’t read the whole thread, but IMO you’re strong for your age/size. How long have you been lifting heavy for? (Again, like I said, haven’t read all the details on you)

Nice work zep, keep it up.

serious lifting, I started being really serious not more then a few months before joining t nation. I was a curlhero for a few months.

thanks for the compliment. Training through plateus and difficult periods can be thankless work.

It seems like peoples backsquats are supposed to be higher then their boxsquats. This just isn’t the case for me. I could maybe get 315 up once (if even) in a suit/wraps and I can rep that on a parallel box a few times.

I honestly can’t tell if it’s my lack of confidence or what. It’s often harder to walk out with a heavy weight then to squat it for me. Maybe I’m just screwed in the head. I don’t know what’s up.

edit: holy shit. I finally worked up the balls to look at my last meets winner in my weightclass. I could of dominated if I wouldn’t of fucked up.

Be thankful you 1. started lifted seriously and 2. found this site, at the age you did. Beat me by about 2.5 years, you bastard.

haha

well g’night guys… off to bed.

Today:

Deadlifts:
225x4
275x4
315x2 belt

Now, the craziest shit happened. My friend just finished his set after me, and we were in a 4 person rotation, but then I hear the into to “we will rock you” by queen. The same song I set a C&J record to months earlier. I told my friend to step the fuck off and add a 45 and a ten. they did I was so excited, it was like I was destined for a PR.

Everytime I dream of lifting this song is in my dream. This song is my ideal song to lift too. I didn’t even put on a belt I was so excited. I went up and wanked it easily. told my friends to toss me the belt and add more weight. They did and I wanked a second PR.

335x1
345x1

Happier then I’ve been in a long time.

yeah…

Bench press:
135x5
155x5
185x4
195x1 pr
205x1 pr

holy shit. 4 prs in 2 days.

Military press:
65x5
95x5
115x3 PR

holy shit 5 prs in two days

Incline DB press
55x4
55x4

Chin
mex5
+10x5
+25x3
+25x3

DB rows:
60x5
65x5

today:
Snatch:
65x4
85x4
95x2
105x2

Box squat:
225x5
275x1 holy shit this was hard, I guess I’m switching this lift for something else on this day. I just can’t do it 2x a week any ideas?

Jerks (really fucking tired)
95x5
115x5
135x2

Today:

box squats:
185x5
225x5
275x5
315x5PR

RE bench
135x20

Cleans
135x2
145x2
155x1

DB rows
55x5
65x5
70x7
75x5

Today:

deads:
225x4
315x2
335x1
355x0

Same dumbfucks as last week benchign with EVERY 5 pounds plastic training plate in the weightroom on decline press. I fucking hate people. WHta if someone was trying to learn to clean? ASSHATS so ashamed of their weight they use fucking gyourmous pieces of plastic to look impressive.

I really can’t stand other people.

Today:
Bench:
135x5
185x5
205x1
205x0

Military press:
65x5
95x4
105x3
115x3

Incline DB press:
55x5
55x5
60x4

DB rows
55x5
65x5
70x5
75x5

Chins:
mex5
+10x5
+25x5

my sticking point is about 7" off my chest.
would board presses help?

Today:
snatch:
75x4
95x4
95x2
105x3

Backsquat:
135x5
185x5
225x2
245x1

I would of thought box squats would of had a larger carryover then they did. My hammies and groin hurts. my groin hurt ridiculously bad during the lift.

Jerks:
95x5
135x4
145x2
155x0
Is it just me or is jerk pressing harder on its own then during a full C&J.

will I condition my groin area after backsquatting a few times? I hurt badly.

You’re back squatting 70 pounds less than you’re box squatting. Box squats should be more difficult than back squats. A 315X5 box squat should translate to a 405 squat if those box squats are done at parallel. A Parallel box is usually around 14 inches.

Doing Jerks out of the rack is easier than Jerks that are cleaned to the rack position. If your rack jerks aren’t up to par with your clean & jerks and didn’t rest very long between doing C&J and rack jerks, then you’re most defiantly over training. Remember that you shouldn’t use 90% or more of your max in the same lift for more than 3 weeks straight or else the CNS will begin to fatigue. Doing Jerks week after week with 90-95% of your max will burn you out. Mix it up with some Incline Press, Bench Press, Military Press, Push Press, Dumbbell Press, or Overhead Lockouts with various Pin Heights.

Noted. thanks for the advice.

lowered teh box .5-.75 an inch can’t really tell.

Boxsquats:
225x5
275x1
315x1 (glutes still sore from last week)

Closerish grip chain bench
(120 pounds of chains total some of the chain never leaves the ground)

95x5
105x5
115x5

there feel wierd. Should I take off half the chain weight and add more straight weight. I didn’t know what they weighed until after we were done so I played it by feel.

full cleans:
95x5
115x3
135x2
155x1
155x0
1550x0
The first rep of 155 on cleans is easy. The second one is impossible

No time for rows, had to rush I had a dentist appt after lifting.I figured my back would get worked cleaning so rows would be the best lift to leave out.
