I’m sure many of you here have multiple sporting/physical hobbies/passions. And simply not enough time/energy to pursue them all …
So what did you have to sacrifice in order to change your body? I don’t mean “giving up the junk food” or “eating better.” I mean more along the lines of “I had to give up running” or “give up boxing.” Or did you find a compromise?
Personally, I made no gains when I was playing soccer, hockey, boxing and judo. Its all out for the next six months. And for the first time ever, I’m putting on weight and gaining strength.
Do we miss those activities? Sure, but I guess its part and parcel of reaching this goal, isn’t it?

Track team. I considered doing it, but realized that it is counterproductive, as I lose 10lbs every track season, and i’m trying to bulk.
Yeah, I have that problem; proper bitch isn’t it. Especially as I love most ball games, and all of them require a shit load of running.

I gave up walking at a normal pace. Its a cardio session getting from my truck to the gym thats only 40 feet away.
Might wanna do something about that.
Booze, cuncha… well I’ve not applied lately in hooking up with chicks, Kung Fu training when I started lifting (gained about 20 pounds after kung fu). I gave up thrower training, starting to take online advice from Chad Aichs (reasonably stupid), but I preferred deep inside to go for competitive bodybuilding.
My budget isn’t really high right now so I prefer to have my whey than to go out with friends. For me, I have found that there’s and inverse correlation between time going out with friends and muscle growth; the less social life I have, the more time I have for my body.
I gave up playing softball and basketball, I had been playing in leagues for many years, and loved it, I had always trained, but my love for sport changed, and training is all i think about doing…
I don’t wanna sacrifice a day of training for anything…
As i got older i started to enjoy a more individualized sport.
Basketball in the spring/summer and football in the fall/winter. Then just being more responsible about getting proper rest, so drinking and what not less frequently on the weekends, and I stopped hanging out late at night with people during the weekdays to stay consistent with lifting.
The last two I’m happy about, because my life is much better off for it.
