I’m going to be entering to Ted Nugent - Stranglehold

Damn, that’s a good fucking choice. I can’t believe I didn’t think of that one.

I’m planning on eventually becoming a professional boxer and when I enter I’ll probably have something cheesy like Never Gonna Give You Up just because rap is so overdone and trying to sound “hard”, “badass”, whatever, is also overdone.
I’m sure everyone jokes about having laid back or silly intro music but very few people use it. I probably would because it’d be a funny change for a lot of people. If I became well known and it affected some special “image” I’m supposed to be marketing myself with I guess I’d conform with some generic gangster rap or something.[/quote]
It’s not about conformity and image if you really compete. It’s about hyping yourself up.
Athletes across all sports use what ever music gets them ready. Football players in the locker room certainly aren’t making a public image as they listen to rap, rock or what ever.
You have to be ready to win. If you come out joking around you probably don’t have your head in the right place.
Link since it seems to be the popular thing to do on this thread. I don’t know that I care for the cheezy looking video the guy made, but the song remains the same…

Ahahahahahah! I had forgotten all about that episode. The Simpsons writing was brilliant during that era, probably the finest cartoon writing team ever. There were so many subtle references in every episode to things that only people “in the know” about the particular subject would get. For example, Moe coming in as the “fan man” was hysterical. They actually understood subtlety too, not like Family Guy.

How about “Rainbow Connection” then? ![]()
I’d love to come out to “The anvil of Crom”.
That song just has such a powerful driving feel to it (I think the war drums are a big part of it). I’d definitely have to kick some ass though if I came out to that. ![]()
