I was kidding about slayer, most of its too fast. Some of the new stuff might work, and select older tracks. I think in high school I tried doing situps and pushups with Angel of Death in the background and the tempo threw me off.
I could never listen to bad religion either, even though I love them to death. Like sometimes I wish Greg Graffin was my dad.
Its all about the mid-tempo angry grooves for me. I mostly alternate between Far Beyond Driven and Vulgar Display of Power. Pretty much any track except the Black Sabbath cover.
Some of the old break dance music picks me up when I’m ready to quit;
Afrika Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force - Looking For The Perfect Beat
Afrika Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force - Planet Rock
Pac Jam
Twilight 22 - Electric Kingdom
Planet Patrol - Play At Your Own Risk
Unearth - Grave of Opportunity
Disarmonia Mundi - Nihilistic Overdrive
Helloween - Can’t Fight Your Desire
Sonic Syndicate - Dead Planet
Avantasia - Another Angel Down
I can understand pantera, slayer, and the like. But it’s so played out that when I hear it i dont pay attention, just washes into the backround. You guys gotta checkout some new stuff, alot of these bands are damn talented and perfect for the gym.
