Your Favorite Breakdowns for Lifting?

For any metalcore fans, what are some good songs with brutal breakdowns in them?, I find they help a lot when lifting, for example almost anything by Parkway drive or august burns red is normally so fuckin heavy I feel like hitting something. Please post some good ones I like to keep my song choices fresh.

five finger death punch - white knuckles , not a great song but its great when Im doing drop sets for biceps, then by the time Im on the last weight and its burning like mad the breakdown at 2:36 comes on and helps me do a few extra reps.

also…I couldnt give a fat sweaty fuck if people call me stuff like troll, I dont even know what it means, Im just looking for some brutal songs for lifting, Parkway drive - boneyards etc. like this.

thanks in advance for anyone with serious replies, Abou.

Definitely a fan of All That Remains and Bullet for my Valentine songs for lifting.

The song Waking the Demon gets me pumped for lifting

Love the song from like 2:30 on for the main set.

I love all of the bands mentioned so far. Despite being more “mosh pop” or whatever, A Day to Remember has some really good breakdowns. Not as hard as Parkway Drive or ABR though. And along the same lines, The Devil Wears Prada can be good.

I don’t know if many people have heard of Emmure, but all of their songs are basically a bunch of breakdowns. lol Edit: I can’t listen to them for that long though, this is their best IMO:

to schultzie and skaz … are those pictures meant to mean anything to me?

But for the people who aren’t complete douchebags, you can probably tell Im a parkway fan, this is pretty awesome I think you would like it from their new album:

Even if your not so keen on it I really liked the first song took me back, don’t know why; haven’t even though I haven’t heard it before.
Good stuff keep them coming.

yeah haha, I used to like hiphop and that kinda thing, still like some, but starting to get keen on this music. Here’s another I like with alot of breakdowns.

Haven’t posted in a while. I hope some new stuff will appear on this thread, as I’m always looking for new hard/heavy stuff for the gym. My contribution (sorry for no videos/being lazy):

A Textbook Tragedy - Intimidator/Rain City State of Mind
The Acacia Strain - Continent

I have a lot of each of the two bands you listed on my lifting mix. The only other band that I have in my list that I listen to a lot is Lamb of God.
Particularly these songs:
Ruin
omerta
Hourglass
Condemning the Hive
Blood of the Scribe
Broken Hands
Set to Fail
11th Hour

I know this probably sounds stupid, but I cant bring myself to listen to these, I really like the sound and if I didnt know what they were saying they would be one of my favourites, its just I cant in good conscience listen when they’re talking about mudering prostitutes, I wish they had different topics cuz they sound awsome.

That’s completely respectable. I, however, have always been a sucker for song composition, regardless of how fowl the lyrics become (especially if you can’t actually decipher them without actually looking them up on el internet). Some of the bands are more positive in their lyrics, such as The Ghost Inside, With Honor, and Bane (whom I forgot to mention), but are less of complete breakdown bands. So, sort of opposite of you maybe, I can’t get into some of the metal with lots o’ singing (though the guitar riffs can be amazing), simply because it doesn’t sound as good as if they had incorporated better screaming/yelling/growling…to each his own!

I agree with you, I much prefer heavy breakdowns over more singing type ones normally the sound is much more important than the lyrics, and I know I cant even understand what they’re saying most of the time without looking it up, I just feel to guilty becuase they were real women, if it was fictious I probably wouldnt mind. This is the only case though, the more brutal the better normally, I love vicer exciser by whitechapel I hope I can get over my guilt and just get it lol. Thats kindof why I like august burns red because they are christian but really heavy so I feel better about listening…Im fully aware that that’s strange when it comes to this genre of music haha.

This will appall you then: Orgasm through Torture - Cannibal Corpse

Suffer to survive
Instinct I despise

Stalking the night, searching for a victim to defile
Cock she craves today
Cum she wants to spray
And to reach the orgasm through torture

From behind, pain shivering down my spine
I feel paralyzed, only controlling my mind

Strapped to the table, naked, genitals exposed
Eyes clamped open, mouth gagged shut, terrified
Locks my scrotum in a vice tightens forcefully
Agony, silent screams, want to die

Shackled and bound, unaware my fate
Destined to be maimed to stimulate

The skin is peeled off my dick
Done with a razor blade
She begins to suck
Blood and cum amok
She rips my cock off with her teeth
Masticate, gnawing and chewing the stump
She regurgitates, I’m covered in my bloody chunks

Suffer to survive
Instinct I despise

I am alive, victimized
Tortured fate, asexual state

Its fun stuff to lift to as well

woah haha that is disturbing as fuck, but I dont mind this or most things that are really messed up, its just cuz they were real people that gets me I think otherwise I’d listen to the sickest stuff. btw the album cover for that cannibal corpse song is gruesome as hell lol seriously wtf?

Check that out…my favorite album of theirs

I’d post the album cover but I’m sure the mods would nuke it…not that I’d blame them

Oh, was this supposed to be metalcore only?

Oh shit, I did it again.

I love James Brown too I used to bboy and have like every breakbeat he’s ever done, but yeah the topic is metalcore. Speaking of which this song is good for lifting or if girl makes you feel like shit, if you’ve heard it before you’ll know what I mean:

BUMP
