your dream gym

today we were also discussing a trap bar?

yay or nay?

personally i wouldnt use it, maybe a Safety squat bar or chambered bar would be more useful.

oh and the gym is already pretty much fully equipped…

your usual plethora of oversized leg extensions etc
DBs up to 120lbs
aqround 2000kg of rubber coated plates (not bumpers unfortunately)

ill; throw up some pics in teh next few weeks when it is close to completition

rubber flooring under everything

Get the trap bar

Good rear delt machine.
Only play hard rock and metal!!
O yeah and most of what the other guys mentioned.

hmm I spent all the effort typing a reply on vibration machines, and it didn’t get posted - WHAAAAAAAAAA!

[Note from Mod: We did not see this come through. Can you re-send?]

Check out PDA for a trapbar that holds more than 500lbs. They have ones that go over 1000lbs. It looks like almost every thing has been covered. I would add a grip machine. and a pole for strippers and a library of good lifting info. You did say it was a dream Gym.

also a sled for draging

longsnapper: Yes, I remember the peg board you’re talking about. Had one in my elementary school (showin’ my age now). Only one guy in school ever got all the way up and down. Wasn’t me.

My guess is that insurance regulations have made those and climbing ropes all but disappear.

I am a huge advocate of trap bars. I get in the best shrug workouts from those. I have not had the chance to deadlift with them, but it seems like they’d be better than a straight bar for that.

Davidian,
We just ordered a machine from Calgym here in OZ that promises to be a reverse hyper. The design is different to the WS one, but its the best we could find. The guy who designed it, built the first one for the sprint program at the AIS. Also Pro Flex in Melbourne told me they had a model in stock.

kaizenhp

do you have any contact details for either of those dealers?

thanks in advance

Davidian,
I am new to posting on the forum and apparently you cant put web site addresses up, my bad. Calgym does have a site and is easy to find if you do a search.
Hope that helps.

Davidian - CT used the Tendon Fitrodyne
which is about 800-900USD I think

The Micro Muscle lab is slightly more expensive at around 100USD but it is smaller and more portable, and has some extra functions like 1RM predictor, and force velocity and so on. Just a hand held unit attached to small box with the cord you attach to the barbell etc

There are a few differnet versions of the MML. The Muscle Lab is its big brother and requires a laptop or PC, but also measures more stuff. There are variants of the MML, one comes with infared contact mat for measureinng jumps etc

The tendo stores data for multiple reps and sets however.

Longsnapper - My old elementary school gym had one of those. The school was old. 1917 kind of old.
