Young Female Beginner w/ No Muscle

I was built just like you until I started training several years ago. Stay in the gym and you will get stronger and add muscle which looks fantastic on our small frames.

Good luck!

Shoe = Ellitebella
What kind of prize do I get?
ROFL! You are just too quick girl!

What prize do you want?

(And your advice is spot on - muscle looks awesome on smaller frames!)

your already a lovely girl, anyways focus on squats, deadlifts, chins and pressing and you should be fine for quite a while. Simpler(though not easier) is usually better.
Elite Powerlifter Hannah Johnson agrees.

As has been said, you have a great base to start with Laura. Whereabouts in the UK are you?

Currently residing in Derby… but escaping as soon as possible.

Hey, I’m also from the UK and I’ve ordered from myprotein several times before - always been happy with the service and quality!

Anywhere really, hopefully the US for a few months, then maybe Australia. No idea where I’m gonna settle in the end, if I ever do!

I thought you were gonna work for us in Derby forever Laura…

Oh yea…about that…

How goes the bodyweight training ms. Laura?

Shout me if you need a training partner; I’m just over the border in Nottingham. Old-fashioned, hardcore, brick outhouse gym too

Well this week I have been trying to stick to this program as I can’t yet get to the gym.

Traditional Push-Ups
Prisoner Squats
Jump Rope
Alternating Jump Lunges
Jumping Jacks
Hip Extension Jumps
Burpees
High Knees
Staggered Push-Ups

I have tried to increase my intake of protein and a few less carbs and already I have lost nearly an inch off my hips. Plus, as I am doing this routine I seem to be always aching - and I LOVE that feeling.

Ahh the ache of DOMS. Nothing like it!

And well done on the inch! A great start.

An inch? Well done. Any chance of photographic evidence?

Nah, well, maybe. Being a girl I don’t like having my picture taken for the sole purpose of it being judged.

Hey leeby, welcome, good to see yet another Brit joining, we need more on here (also, we’ve got the first four posts on this page).

I’ve heard a few good things about myProtein, but I’m always skeptical about results posted on a companies own website, I’d rather see or hear about some independent tests or personal experiences.
I use MyProtein all the time, I’ve never had any problems with them so I say you should give them a try.

Laura,

Sounds like you’re on the right track, keep it up, looks like you’ve got potential.

Laura - trust me on this. We aint gonna judge anything. Kleenex may be involved though. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey, it’s if I post a pic and Kleenex ISN’T needed that I’m worried about!

I like this girl more and more

Okay, here’s a back shot. As you can see I have no muscle at all and would love to have more defined arms. Plus, although I naturally have a small waist I do have the whole ‘love handles’ thing going on. These are the main areas I want to get rid of.

(^ that’s my hair btw, not that I haven’t shaved one pit, ever.)
