Hey guys. We are turning a bay of our 3 car garage into a gym and we want to get one of these 2 machines. I know nothing about either brand/machine. There are multiple Xmark options, but I don’t know what the Xmark one is called to differentiate the different models (it’s the one that’s $2659 on Amazon right now). It’s a good chunk of change and we didn’t want to blindly buy it, so I would really appreciate any advice that you can offer. Which one is better? Thanks.
I have the Xmark. It has served me well, seems to be well built. I made some add on weights for mine because the weight stack isn’t heavy enough for pull downs or seated rows. It isn’t nearly as smooth as more expensive machines.
How did you add on the weights? Just so whenever I do get either one, I know how to do it safely. The Xmark is the first one that I found that had everything that I wanted but then came across the FT-5000 that’s $350 cheaper and has dual 220 lb stacks vs Xmark’s 200 lbs. The worry is that it isn’t built as well as the Xmark because why else would it be cheaper but have more weight at the same time? Thanks
You were nice enough to respond to me regarding the cable machine awhile back. I still haven’t pulled the trigger on it, but going to soon. It’s a follow up regarding how doing exercises with one stack can get challenging for exercises where higher weight is needed and how you added weight to them.
Could you get a long bar that has the connections on the ends instead of the middle and then connect each side to the different stacks allowing you to use both stacks at the same time? Its the only thing holding me back as I’m trying to find higher weight stacks at an affordable price but can’t find anything. This seems to be a solution to that.
