God, I hate you.
Do you reckon your DL PR was from switching to sumo? How are your adductors and hips feeling? Mine hated me for a couple weeks until I got a bit of flexibility through them. Which in turn helped my squat and, oddly enough my bench (so I could get my feet wider and higher up the bench).

I would be setting PRs like this with conventional if it wasn’t for my back IMO. This was also touch and go, so I’m a dirty cheater. lmfao. My hips aren’t really troubled with sumo pulling, thankfully. But I think that I have a good build for this, so the tax on my body isn’t as great; I’m hardly sore this morning somehow. ![]()
Funny you should mention feet position on the bench. It takes a good bit of warming up in order to get my feet back far enough.

Warmup
Hip Mobility Work
Reverse Hyper - (BW x plenty)x2
Today I was going to zercher squat. I should have waited until tomorrow. Besides waking up at 3 AM, feeling sick-ish/tired and having little appetite this morning, I felt like I got hit by a truck. My lower back muscles were too exhausted from heavy pulling only two days ago to stabilize my spine, and I knew that trying to push these would just be asking to get hurt. So, I called it quits during the warmups.
Then I did some incline DB benching. Worked up to the 90’s and couldn’t budge them, lmfao. ![]()
Then I tried some suicides (empty court FTW), but I got winded real quick and couldn’t push them today. I could just tell that my CNS was fried all over the place, so this was it.
Probably not going to zercher later this week to compensate. Might go for another PR after I pull heavy next week, but I need to make sure that my back is recovered next time.

Lawl. I would have, but my dad doesn’t like me bringing the camera to the gym. >:(
I definitely opt for deadstop reps, but I haven’t had a DL PR in ages and I just wanted to rep out four plates. ![]()

Warmup
Shoulder Dislocations - 2x12
Close Grip Bench Press
(45 x some)x3
(135x3)x3
175x3
205x1
215x1
Just worked up to an easy single and left it here. Would have tried 240 today if I felt good, but felt mediocre.
Reverse Grip Bench Press (paused)
135x5
155x5
170x5
185x5 (touch and go on the last rep; didn’t think I could get it paused)
Played around with these. Pretty tough. All sets were technically PRs, lol.
Barbell Row
135x5
185x5
205x3
215x6 (PR)
135x12 (underhand, uber strict)
Last two didn’t touch my chest but the other four were solid. Back still a little fatigued but pulling but it’s tolerable.
Barbell Curl
95 x plenty
105xF
Fair day.

Supersetted abductor and adductor machines three times; ramped
Reverse Hyper - (BW x plenty)x2
Speed Deadlift
135x5
225x1 (tried a mixed grip…bar off centered, didn’t go well)
(240x1)x8 (~30 sec between)
240x1 (played around with pulling from a deficit w/ two 35’s)
I experimented a lot with my set-up. I tried gripping and ripping and taking my time. Need to keep it fast, but not too fast that I fuck up.
Decided to go balls to the wall with accessory stuff…
Back Extension
BW+45x25
------dropset------
BW+25x25

BWx25
Fucking brutal.
Leg Press

------dropset------
4 plates x 10
------dropset------
3 plates x 10
Lat Pulldown
190x10
210x8
230x5
150x12 (close grip and underhand…spaced out over two sets…was too fatigued…lol…)
Plenty o’ sweat today.
Nice work in here man! Ive found the same thing with DL’s as you. I take a few seconds and remember my cues then pull. Keep it fast, but not too fast!
What are shoulder dislocations?
Thanks man. Looks like they really help with shoulder health/mobility?
[quote]pbclax1 wrote:

I arbitrarily do them to be honest. I just see them as something to do to warmup/stretch out the shoulder area.
mmm…shoulder dislocations huh? I can do the same thing with my legs…just saying…were those hyperextensions you did a drop set on? And THEN LEG PRESS??? How do you feel today???

Cool…wait, how would that even look?
lol
I was pretty sore for a while but I’m recovered now. About to go train in a little actually. ![]()

300x3
Didn’t want to go all out today to I just worked up to what I thought would be an easy triple; turned out it felt rather tough today. Ugh, tired. Back also felt kinda rough.
Did some cleans w/ 135. Not getting triple-extension.
(BWx10)x3 chinups
------staggered with------
~100 jumps on jumprope
Overall, not too hot, but that’s alright for now; heavy pulling later this week.
