Haha yeah, it’s on my to-do list.
I’m thinking Gears 2 possibly - Halo is not my thing, neither is COD.
I’m getting MK vs DC next week, you should too cause it looks wicked!

I’ve got the first gears. GOW2 is on my list for when I have spare cash.
What is MK vs DC?

Um, pretty much the only fighting game I’ve come across on the 360.

I’ll have to see the reviews on it when it comes out. I’ve had bad experiences with fighting games like that, most notably I would say Dragonballz or any number of other comic based fighters.
Halo rock’s in my opinion, unless you get paired with annoying little freaking 8y.o. Which is 'bout half the time if you dont have friends or make friends with older players.
Dude COD:WOW is awesome. I don’t post often as you can tell, but I have got to tell you the game is awesome. The developer is the reason for the bad rap, but they came through big time. Campaign is great, multiplayer is fantastic. If your not into the online, you could probably rent the game and beat in a week max, on the hard levels.
i wasnt impressed with cod5, it seemed very unpolished, esp compared to cod4, and the blood and guts seemed superfluous (but fun),
howerver coop and the flamethrower were great, i remeber thinking ‘i hope theres a tank level with a flame tank’
i was a happy bunny.
as always, rent first before buy
and im glad i didnt buy cod5

Where do you rent games from here in the UK?
Gamefly over here is popular. Used to be blockbuster.
Or you can just borrow from a friend.

I was thinking this is how the new CoD was going to play out. I new that it was a different developer than CoD4, and was thinking they’d try to emulate what CoD4 did, but expand on it. My guess was a fail, but I’m sure those who made the game have made many a precious penny at this point.

I just finished playing both the demos for Left 4 dead and Mirror edge. I’m definitely buying both, and I think I’ll be even happier with them than I would be with even gears and CoD5.
I’m still not impressed with Mirrors Edge, I can’t yet put my finger on why though.
I’m waiting for my copy of Shaun White Snowboarding this morning.[/quote]
I played the demo… I’m still contemplating asking for it for Christmas or not (Mirror’s Edge.) It seems like it’d have a short, linear campaign with little replay value after finishing. I’m thinking it may be a “Rent it and plug the hell away at it for 10 hours” type of game.
As for Shaun White - How does it play? Is it actually realistic, or… Tony Hawk 8 on snow?

I can’t wait for the COD4 developer to do the next one. I believe they keep switching off.

I liked CoD 5’s campaign, it was pretty much on part with CoD 4’s for the most part.
I felt that multiplayer left something to be desired though. Just can’t get into it. Fortunately there’s still plenty of people playing 4.

I got mirrors edge on saturday, and the only reason I peeled my eyes away from the TV was having to go to work. The levels last anywhere from 30 minutes to 1hr and there are like 10 chapters I think. I’ve gotten to chapter 5 and its pretty fuckin awesome.
The main reason I bought it was because EA’s unique efforts need alot of support if we want to see new genres and IP’s more often. The game is pretty smooth, and the graphics are clean, and very stylistic. I definitely do no regret buying the game and I’ll be doing many time trials after beating the game in normal/hard mode.
I’ve only played the demo for left 4 dead but I’m very happy with what I see so far. It holds up pretty well for a game of its style and I think it would be a blast to play with girls and at parties.
My ratings
Mirror’s edge-8.5
Cons
-Fighting system could use grab techniques and more punch/kick techniques
-May be short for some people
-Pathways aren’t always easy to find(harder than portal and Prince of Persia)
Pros
-awesome game is awesome
Left 4 dead-9(projected)
Cons
-None that I can think of
Pros
-Fast paced
-Lots of blood
-Co op is awesome
-Great party/girl game ![]()
Oh, and for anyone contemplating getting in on the CoD action…just get 4 and skip 5. I found it to be pretty weak compared to it’s predecessor and with a cheap price(used?) and still active online community CoD4 would be a great holiday pick up.
Ye, but halo swamps COD4 in multiplayer imo. Much more options.

Yeah but I didn’t like the campaign.
And I got tired of playing with fucking 6 year olds.

Nice, maybe I’ll give it a shot, then. It’s tough to decide what to get; there’s just so many other games right now!
And I know I’m not the only one pumped about logging in to Live tonight and getting the new interface!

I’ve only just booted the game up, but haven’t had time to play it yet (typical, with work and all).
I’m guessing it’ll be more Tony Hawks style, but not certain yet.
For anyone that’s interested, they are doing Left 4 Dead on Amazon with a pre-order price of £30 - about £10 less than anywhere else I’ve seen:
Hands down best game for xbox live:
Call of Duty 4
If I still had it, I’d be playing it right now. That shit is like crack. Nothing like sprinting through war torn landscapes and tearing people up with your uzi.
Big downside about it though: only 1 person can play at once per console. If you want a game good for more people, buy Halo.
Xbox Experience was released today. Anyone get a chance to check it out yet?
Totally stoked about being able to stream netflix from it!
